As soon as you get your account, change the "user email" found in the "settings" tab, so even if the previous owner knows the recoveries, he can't steal the account back, because you have the option to chnage the email to your own. I recommend everyone does this, for those of you who don't know. I didn't know my first time, and got scammed.

The recovery email address. As soon as you get the account, go to "Settings" you'll see an account email address. Click "Change Contact Email" or else the preious owner of the account can just send a recovery request to Steam and have the password emailed to the email under "Contact Email". I attached a screen shot to show you where to go and what to change. Alot of people don't know this, and the previous owner get's the password emailed to his email because the buyer didn't know to change it so the seller doesn't have access to it. I have been wheeling and dealing Steam accounts for 4 years now.

Yeah, obviously when buying an account, you would change ALL details...it's obvious. :p But ouch, it's bad that you got scammed. =\

Yeah, and this is just helpful for someone new to Steam. Who is trading for their first account.

Yeah but you can still take steam accounts back if you have a scanned cd key, like coolsprus did to the account i bought from him.

I do not advice buying steam accounts at all unless the person is a trusted mm.
