well... a basketball can dent a car.. not entirely sure about scratch it. depends on what type of basketball i suppose.

it was a Wilson basketball, with a very tight grip

we were shooting some hoops, then our ball hit the rim, went get it and the two guys didnt stop.
so the ball hit their car.

the two guys got out fo the car and told us were going call the cops.

I said go right ahead and gave them my cell.

they changed the topic, and requested our info, our names, and phone number.

so we gave them our number.

Tomorrow they said they would call back and we would have to go to the Honda dealership pay for the "damage"

which is suppoosly a 20 buck deal, where you can pick some chemicals off wal-mart.

See the cops cant do shit.

and the honda was a 07 model.

so the dwon payment for the insurance would be about 250-500 bucks.

so they cant do anything.

 

I've hit a car after playing on an asphalt driveway and gotten the little dots all over a car, but simple washing got that out.

 

tried washing it on the spot, but it seems to me a good scratch, not deep but just a simple scratch needing to be painted.

 

I really hate people like that who think they have such a big sense of duty. I mean you guys did it by accident you didn't really mean any harm they should've just been like "be more careful"

 

Think of it as in their position

you bought a very nice new model car paid a fortune

then some random person scratches it.

would you not be pissed off?

we were playing basketball, ball hits the rim and hits their car, i couldn't reach the ball in time because the car didn't stop for us.

so no.. it couldnt

 

Well I would be pissed but I would understand it was an accident.

 

If the basketball is rotating and there is dirt on the ball or car it will most definetly leave a fine scratch which can easily be buffed / polished out.

 

buffing it out will fix it... i don't recommend you do it though because you can easily burn the paint and cause more dammage

 

If the car was going very fast and the basketball hit the windshield I'm certain it would leave some scratch or crack in the glass.

 

Hey, are you sure the scratch wasn't there before the basketball hit your car? Cause maybe it was there before and you realised after. If not, I don't think a basketball can scratch...Weird...

 

i have hit my friends car with a basketball 2 or 3 times, and it never scratched it. don't see how this is possible!

asshole tried to get her to pay for it up until then.

 

It doenst really scratch it, just kinda like rubs the paint off a bit. It shows up on black cars. Did it to my dads but its not noticable at all. You can just buff it out.
