What would make you buy an eBook?

I'm just doing a little research on potentially creating an eBook based on Sythe user demands.

1. What subjects/topics would you want an eBook written for? Please be specific. (do you want to know how to make money online, RS guides, how to make money in real life, etc.)

2. What is the max amount you would pay?

3. Would you pay more for an eBook if it came with Skype support?

4. Assuming the eBook was doing well, would you be interested in purchasing resale rights?

5. Have you purchased an eBook before? What did you think?

6. Any other comments/suggestions?

7. In a few short words, what makes a great eBook?

 

1. Making money online. I can also speak for the majority of Sythe members. Sythe is dubbed the Craiglist of Virtual Goods; most of us are here to make profits online.

2. Depends on how much money your ebook can make me. If it can make me $10 /hr up to few hours a day, Ill pay like up to a few days of profit. If it can replace a full time job, Ill pay up to a couple weeks worth of profit.

3. Yes. But not much. If youve written a good piece of text, it shouldnt require support.

4. Yes.

5. Yes. The majority of them were garbage.

6. Dont make a garbage ebook.

7. Will make me a lot of money.

 

eBooks are fairly easy to create, it's thinking of the idea, that actually has a market that's the hard part.

Amazon eBooks are great as there platform is used by millions, they will also print and deliver hard back copies of your book for a %. I would recommend using Amazon if you've got a good idea, with a bigger market base than runescape.

If you have a good idea I'll happily join ventures with you. I have a ghost writer in the US that writes books for $300 all you have todo is feed her the guidelines and information.

I also have access to a database of 1000's of eBook buyers/groups that promote eBooks for me during the '2 week free download' period that tend to offer on Amazon to get up the ranks for the specific section the book is in to draw in attention.

How to make money online. This could include profitable runescape guides. Mainly solid online income guides.

2. What is the max amount you would pay?

I was discussing with a user on here about paying $5,000 for a guide that makes $3,500/month. If you can promise high returns, I'll pay high. So far, $5,000 is the max I've legitimately considered for a guide. Once the guide gets above $100, I expect some legit returns.

3. Would you pay more for an eBook if it came with Skype support?

Probably not. My past experience with skype support has been terrible. I'm usually better off asking questions in the thread itself as it puts the seller on the spot and they usually respond after that.

Yes.

Yes. I've purchased quite a bit. 80% are disappointing or just flat out bullshit. In general, I have a negative view towards ebooks geared towards making money. When someone is selling a money making guide for less than $100, I always wonder why they're selling the method if it's so great. Why saturate the market for them?

Please don't sell a gimmicky ebook. Yes, selling ebooks is profitable for you, but there's nothing worse than being broke, buying an ebook in hopes of making money, and then you end up broker than before. Especially on this site, a lot of kids might buy the guide with unreal expectations and end up feeling scammed. If you're going to write an ebook, make it a quality and legitimate ebook. I always joked about writing an ebook on money making and having the only information in there as "Sell ebooks. Market them well. Profit. I just made $20 off you with no effort? See how easy it was?".

Legitimate and solid information that is exactly as advertised. An ebook that gives actual results.
