Ok I can deal with shitknot, at least they have a very very slight metal element. I still think they are nu-metal though.
If you are looking for new music, the only real new type band I can see that got popular in the last years is Dragonforce.

What the FUCK were you thinking when you listed Atreyu?

Thats not even metal. It's screamo, and maybe metalcore at the most perverted metal angle-- which it's more core then metal for sure.

Correction. "screamo" is emo bands that scream and destroy their vocal chords.
atreyu is a screaming band, but not screamo,

i do like disturbed better though

Atreyu is cheezy metalcore with qualities much the same as a boy band.

 

disturbed is good, atreyu was always good, Dragonforce is good, i like Trivium, Children of Bodom, In flames, etc, also, Snoop Dogg.

there is only one band you need. Gojira. un-fucking-believable. Listen to "Heaviest Matter of the Universe" and you wont be disapointed.

 

I guess the only new good bands i know of is Children of Bodom, Amon Amarth and Dragonforce because they stay true metal. This little java snippet will explain the situation:
