Why does Jagex care so much about selling rs items for rl money?

Hey guys I was just thinking to myself today why the fuc* does Jagex care if you sell your rs items to ppl for real life cash? I mean its like working a job right? You sit and play rs for hours on end like a real job then after you get your items you sell it. Its like a real job and selling the items is your paycheck. Why does jagex hasle us so much if we use our own time to obtain these items then sell them to make a profit? If anyone could add any insight to this or just discuss... I'm really blanked on this because lots of pker's and staker's getting banned for this bull shi* ~*revamped*~

 

Cuz of the people getting scammed...1/2 (if not more) of the people on sythe r scammers

 

Because of gold farmers.

The gold farmers are the ones running most of the autoers in free world like woodcutting and stuff. Then they sell all of the stuff and sell the gold for real life cash.

Now if Jagex can show people that real world trading will get you banned people are likely not to buy it, and then autoing is not any good for them.

 

Scamming, people have been scammed out of real life cash before too, and gold farmers flooding the games economy, somethin' like cashlagoon said. He hit the nail right on the head there.

I think they just don't want people having unfair advantages over others.

Also, it would throw the economy of rs2 off even more then it already is.

 

Yea if they sold it, scammers and autos would be less. Plus more kiddies will take there parents cc to buy rsgp.

 

I think that Jagex should sell gold for $1 a mill. Then they wouldn't have to worry, and everyone would be happy.

jagex xares because they dont profit from it lol XD

 

1 - because of the number of people who get scammed by it, either by being ripped off in a sale or being hacked to them have their stuff flogged off to gold farmer sites

2 - because it gives people with spare money an advantage over those without and throws the game concept/balance out of the window (kinda like if your bringing your own stack of money to a monopoly game)

3 - bots / gold farmers wreck up the game by flooding the world and by effecting the markets

4 - cause 1, 2, and 3 really piss players off

5 - a couple of copyright issues / game control issues as well

as for them not making money off it being a reason - nonsense. They get money from the farmers on p2p worlds and if they wanted to make money of it they would just include it into the game directly or set up a site to sell it through.

The RS black market is helping them in so many ways, they're just hardassed IMO.

 

They have beef with it because they probably don't want people making money out of Runescape, they Want to be the only one's doing that

It's because OUR black market economy owns their P.O.S runescape economy. If jagex only knew how much money they could make by selling mills.

They just know that the black market is very successful at what it is built to do, and they want to keep an 'honest' and 'fair' game for little wee tykes to play.

 

Oh thanks a lot for this guys but I still dont understand. People get ripped off ingame to and you dont see ppl getting banned for ripping other ppl off. Also you work for your rl money and ppl work for the items in game.. Wether they auto or not they still waist either electricity or time.. Also, I agree with what u guys are saying Jagex could make a shitload of money if they sold mills on there site =] thanks again every one
