Minecraft improvements

Not going to write an entire 30 page businessplan for the MC server. The plan is: set up the server with the mods suggested in this thread -> we got a group of 6 people who are willing to help build stuff (at least they said so 6 weeks ago) so give access to the 6 people to build stuff needed in the pixelmon server, which can be done thanks to the mods -> when stuff is build and set up PR team makes a vid and whatnot -> the server opens alongside the promotion activities.

 

What promotion activities? How are we going to deal with two competing servers?

 

Curious as to how many people are active on this or what interest there is? Just trying to get a head-count, really. Not trying to offend this at all.

 

Vid and continiously posting about our server in mc related forums. There are no two competing servers, graves server hasnt been touched in 6 weeks and i doubt it will be touched in the next 6 weeks. Touched as in any players and touched as in anything done with it in regards to improving it.

 

What about to attract current members to play? I think it needs to be a server for them first and foremost.

 

I prefer completely vanilla, however, this isn't really safe/possible without whitelisting. If there is no whitelisting I would say have some kind of protection mod for atleast the spawn area, other mods might be necessary but nothing big I'm sure

 

Faction with land claiming is the best "anti grief pvp server" (theres a reason why these are so popular and sucessful too) in my thoughts, it holds power and makes griefing hard for lots. But yes, protection mods for spawn

 

I think if its just regular minecraft with some built in mods with no downloads, i'd say maybe 5-10 players on a sythe vanilla minecraft server. There were quite a lot on the minecraft horror mazes that went on, peaked pretty high, i want to say maybe 8. There were really only 4-5 on at a time on the pixelmon server, and afaik from the thread most players didn't join because "hurr durr so hard to install omg it doesnt work!", so yes if its a vanilla server more people should join right? is my logic flawed here or what

 

Meh why not make a vanilla WoW server, apart from your little gang there is no demand for minecraft on sythe at present and minecraft players are too young to join sythe.. me thinks..

 

Events.

 

This is a thread about minecraft not wow, if you want that go suggest it.

 

I've never had any interest in the minecraft pokemon stuff because I don't like how mods are clunky to use over a long period of time and throw off the balance of vanilla minecraft to the point you play it purely for the content of the mod (which is far, far less than vanilla minecraft).

The only thing I've been interested in is the vanilla one with faction mods. Preferably citadel since it allows players to protect whatever blocks they want wherever they want, rather than being bound within the area they claimed. It then has a cost assigned with the protection of the blocks etc so you can't spam it everywhere.

 

I do quite enjoy factions. It is something we can do after the Halloween Event is over.

Apparently maze event is dead so I'll setup survival. I'm going to whitelist it at first so if you want in shoot me a PM with your minecraft name.
