just a thought about scamming and ways to get trust/paid back when scammed

So I have a thought, and this might be a bad idea so just let me know what you guys think. It actually might be genius. So of course you can donate to sythe and you know it shows your trust, your wealth, and the more u donate the more trusted you usually are. Now lets say there was a system similar to donating, but instead it is buyer/seller guarantee. So pretty much it would be a donation system with a twist. Lets say you could donate the same amts like normal donations, but instead these donations are scamming guarantee's. I am wording this bad, but for example say I am a $500 dollar doner. Of course people will trust me right? Now if this system was in place say I donated $100 to the system. Somehow it would have to show on your profile

so it would be placed where on Chloe's post next to market mod, runescape mod, $300 doner, and official middleman. Now this would be a way for people doing small transactions, in this case up to $100 to be quite sure whether they get scammed or the transaction goes smoothly. Their money would be safe. So say I scam $50 dollars. Well then I would get banned, the person that got scammed would be reimbursed $50 and then since I would be then banned either the last $50 would go to sythe.org or to maybe another person who was scammed. The only problem I see with this is that if multiple people were scammed then maybe you'd split the amt that the scammer has backed(or donated for buyer/seller guarantee). This is a just a rough draft of a system that in my opinion I think would work very well.
P.S. I understand this is worded horribly, but if you have any questions about what I am trying to explain just post and I will explain in more detail to the best of my knowledge.

This sort of "insurance system" has been suggested multiple times before and will not work as donations are donations, not insurance coverage. On top of that, why would scammers want to spend money on insurance to repay their scammers anyways, that would be completely counterproductive.

 

I think it has been said that users can open such a service if they feel like it as it is a free market. It wont be official however.

 

This would not be for scammers for the exact reason of what you just said.
This would be for legit people trying to show that they are here to stay by investing their own money into this system. In which if they wanted to scam someone, it would be covered by their donation. Therefore making transactions with this kind of coverage would make it easier for both parties involved. Also it would not have anything to do with the current donation system. It would be its own unique system because as i stated above it has nothing to do with donations.

@Buyacc I don't exactly understand what you mean could you explain. How could users open a service like this exactly?

Another way to put it is that if someone donated to this system like $100, than all day to day transactions with other individuals for example like $10 or $20 or $30 or even up to $100 transactions the person trading this individual would have some sort of safety net for their goods. I understand you can use a middleman, but this would be to avoid the middleman all in all. It also would show that your really here to stay because when you donate money to sythe u get a sticker that shows $25 donated $500 donated or whatever amt. If someone that donated $5000000000000 to sythe scams you, for whatever reason. You are shit out of luck. With this system I am talking about whether they are a $0 donator or a $500000000000000000 donator if they have donated to this system you can know how much of your goods would be covered if scammed. idk i feel like there could be better ways to input this system, but I really think it'd be good

 

It isnt going to be official like you proposed it to be. Sythe wont add it to the site nor will Sythe be involved in it in any way. I can remember reading that normal users like you and me can open a service like "Buyacc's Insurance Service!" though, where users can give money to someone trusted and then that money can be used as an insurance service.

 

@Buyacc oh ok I understand, but in my opinion its still a good idea. If they already made it clear they wont do a system like this, then I feel it is their loss. Oh well.

 

It is because if they (Sythe.org) were to offer insurances they need to follow regulations and stuff which apply to insurance companies (is what I got from earlier threads).

 

Oh I did not even think about the legalities of it. That makes alot more sense.
