Make Marijuana Legal?

The current drug policy the U.S has is perfect in my opinion. The only thing I disagree with is the sentencing for drug users ect

 

Hang on. Marijuana only affects the user, so why not legalize it for people 18 and over? Are they not free to choose for themselves.

 

I think all kinds of smoking should just be banned, I'm sick of all the people smoking in our air and we have to breathe in their damn second-hand smoke.

 

Aren't there laws preventing people from smoking in public places?

 

We should legalize marijuana and fuck cigarettes, nothing's wrong with marijuana.

If you live in the U.S. (most states) or U.K., then what they're doing is illegal...

They probably wouldn't get too much money out of it. People would grow it in their basements. And, unlike alcohol, it's easy to produce yourself.

Shredderbeam, you're awesome. I agree with everything you've said so far. Especially the thing about the user. If it only affects them, let them use it over 18. And just with cigarettes (having been banned from almost all public places), they should ban marijuana smoking from public places. I'm no fan of secondhand smoke, but I'd do it at home.

Akakoa, I feel for your loss. My grandmother smoked for years, and thank god (and knock on wood) nothing has happened to her. I hate the tobacco companies.
