Not anymore. Religion and superstitions were often used as man made reasons for the unexplained, and/or to control people.

I am not religious, but I dislike the word 'atheist' too. Contradictory I know.

Religion does have it's positives in regards to morals, but everything else is nothing more than an ancient version of Disney.

If this is a form of superstition, then I'm the same way with a lot of things, really anything that includes an undo/redo to match a number etc. I just thought this was an action of OCD lol.

@OP: Not particularly, no. I don't mind opening an umbrella while indoors or walking under a latter. Seeing black cats cross my path doesn't freak me out and I don't think breaking a mirror with bring me seven years of bad luck. It just seems silly to think such a thing.

Superstition is like bed time stories: just to expand your imagination and eventually make you buy things (movie tickets, go to a gipsy, buy the horoscope, etc..)

 

Haha not really superstitious now, but when I was 10 I did the bloody mary thing and I was super scared the whole night.

 

daily prayer is ritual, not superstition.
