Temporarily flag recently pardoned members

Currently for people relatively new to Sythe such as myself, when looking through the market (especially accounts sales) I try to be extremely cautious making sure the member is vouched and deemed trusted in my eyes. I understand it's a free market and everyone has their own idea of who to trust. I feel as though it's very hard to trust someone who has nothing to lose.

Let me get to the point. With the pardon/DNT system in place it allows users who previously scammed to be granted another chance in the community. I think it would be advantageous if a user gets unbanned without a TWC to have some sort of mark indicating they have been previously unbanned.

The issue with members getting unbanned are while staff may feel they are not a threat to the community, other users may still want to be hesitant to work with someone like this. Imagine someone is a member since 2010, yet has been banned for 6 years and only recently unbanned. Say this user has donated in the past hundreds of dollars and gained some significant vouches since being unbanned. It feels really safe to trade with this person if you aren't aware of their history.

Sorry for not knowing how to summarize. I understand the TWC exists, but doesn't seem to be implemented to members who get unbanned. Maybe require a TWC for a period of time while the user re-establishes his/herself into the community. If you have any better ideas or if this goes against any of Sythe's policies please let me know. I'm spit-balling here. Thanks.

 

I did actually think this, it is somewhat annoying knowing someone has had a past and you may not want to trade them because of it, but because there is no way of knowing they were recently pardoned you can't do much about it.

At the end of the day it is a free market, and it is also unfair for those who got pardoned to then have that on their heads. It's a sticky one tbh.

The only way you can question that is if you're trying to look for a worker, they have to say they were recently pardoned. Like you do if you go to jail, you get a criminal record sort of thing. If you notice anyone that has been missing on site for a lot of years you can question why there was a gap.

You are totally right though IMO that just because staff have pardoned someone does not necessarily mean the community feels welcomed to those members. Perfectly understandable I believe to think that way, but on the other end if they've repaid people and been accepted by pardon possibly give them another chance.

 

Pardoned members have to repay their victims in order to return, and they are only really accepted if the majority of staff feel that they are not a risk anymore.

I think it's fine the way it is. People shouldnt take what has been donated as a sign of trust, that is simply their own fault if it falls back on them.

 

Was simply an example. Not entirely my point what so ever. As I stated, just because staff deems them not a threat, doesn't mean a majority of users do. As a free market, I think it'd be beneficial to know of a user's past to judge for ourself whether or not to trust someone without doing extensive research. Just my 2 cents, but thanks for your input.

 

Once pardoned users have access to the free market.

The free market is about NOT putting any restrictions on normal users(which pardoned users are).

Pardon is a clean slate so this wont ever get approved
