Official LoL Worlds 2016 discussion thread

My predictions are:

SSG win
SKT win
ROX win
ANX win

Sad to see my favourites RNG get put against SKT in the quarters hoped they'd make it further but i doubt it now

 

But TSM is out so it's Christmas in October.

 

I'm gonna be predicting:

SKT > RNG
ROX > EDG
H2K > ANX
C9 > SSG

SKT > ROX
C9 > H2K

SKT > C9

Anything could happen with H2K though given how differently they played from week 1 to week 2. The way the brackets worked out EU/NA get a really easy route to the finals, hoping worlds doesn't end with a stomp because of it.

 

Agree completely lol. Mine are the same to the T. I just don't want to be boring and predict Samsung SKT like most people would. I want to believe that C9 can pull the upset of SSG and then beat H2K in a tough series.

 

100% chance a Korean team wins the final. Everyone else is just here to learn

 

I want love to see c9 win with a nice carry from snuckers but their performances has been questionable and i dont think its possible personally

 

A bit bummed about the lopsided bracket matchups, but it still might be a good finals if SSG plays at their current level.

Personally I think SKT v SSG, but Worlds has been pretty crazy thus far. Really excited for the KOR v CN matches.

 

Not only that, but SSG has been playing really well. Crown is a beast and definitely living up to the hype.

Exactly what I have for my guess, though I think C9-H2K is a 50-50 depending on which week of H2K we end up with. Kinda sucks for Rox to be on SKT's side of the bracket though.

 

SKT over everyone. Always. But I feel like most of the choices were fairly one sided. Skt over RNG, H2K over ANX. But ROX vs EDG was a toughy. I haven't been watching them much this season so I'm not 100% sure what they're putting out there, but judging from the past it should be fairly close, but I'll give it to ROX.

 

I don't think ROX won a single game to SKT this year

 

Think you're right for Summer Split, but in Spring I believe Rox 2-0'd them in regular season before losing to them in Finals 3-1. Rox was able to avoid SKT in Summer Split because KT upset them.

 

Yeah but despite once or twice, SKT usually beats them most times

Definitely, beat them in the finals of World last year easily as well. Back before they were "Koo Tigers" and not Rox Tigers.

 

I think its more likely that if a 'small' team like ANX/H2K/C9 reach finals + beat them than all others tbh

 

Win in quarters or finals? If TSM were in there position they would have a better chance. I'm not believing C9 can pull ahead of SSG unless they get extremely lucky.

 

C9 dumpstered 3-0. I think if anything this really just shows how overrated North America was as a region this past split. Completely outclassed by the Korean participant that barely made Worlds to begin with. It was definitely exciting getting on the hype train but in the end none of the NA teams stacked up at all to China/Korea. Quite disappointing but hardly surprising.

Really makes you wonder what it's going to take for NA to win worlds. It literally seems impossible and like it will never happen. TSM dominate NA in Summer 2016, can't even get out of groups. C9 dominate NA in 2013, can't get out of quarters.

 

I don't ever see NA winning worlds while they're always playing catchup vs. the Koreans
