need help fixing up a computer

Okay. So my friend, he has an OKAY computer, but he uses limewire and hes retared. Yea. Something that says free phone, he will download it.

Now the computer runs UBER slow, and he has high-speed internet with a pretty useable RAM, 50Gigs of memory still free, and has windows XP.

Whats the best way to get rid of ALL those pesky problems, such as trojans, viruses, keylogs, stuff like that? BTW, I do NOT want to wipe the hard drive.

It deletes all viruses, fixes registry errors, refragments your hard drive, AND your ram. It made my computer go 2 times faster. Hope it helps.

 

Download, Antivir Xp and Ad Aware Se Personal. both work really great.

 

Download and install a anti-virus suite. Run a deep scan (you might wan to even consider byte scanning).

Run Disk Defragmentor (Start > All Programs > Accessories > Disk Defragmentor)

Run Disk Cleanup (Start > All Programs > Accessories > Disk Cleanup)

Download Regseeker and Scan the Registry for any errors (Delete everything it finds)

Download System Mechanic and Run a full evaluation. Reapir.

Before i posted this, i downloaded AVG anti virus and did a scan, and it found 200 freaking problems, but didnt really get rid of them, 50 of them were trojans or w/e.

Im not really concerned about getting rid of keyloggers, they dont slow down the comp. that much and my main priority is getting his computer fast enough to where it is workable, and not take 20-30 minutes to open up itunes.

 

Then follow what i told you to do.

 

Just reformat that drive..

 

well if delete that comp accout that you got the virus etc than restart comp go on safe mode than use Virus scanner and spybot search and destroy to get rid of thing i bet it will come back to normal and make sure u delete that cellphone crab so it doesn't respawn

or just go to windows xp tech support if u click start/help and support than choose Get support newsgroup etc.. click it than it should come up an option to go directly to Window xp techsupport news group, click it look for Chat option click it join the chat and a technician will help you there certified people that works for microsoft.

Thanks vietballer, yup im trying everything I can. Ive done slaveofthebeasts idea thing and its working, but it takes a lot of time to scan. I pretty much have to go to safemode cause if I dont itll take like an hour to load the computer up.

Its not just cellphone, hes really dumb at computers.
he has on his desktop these apps:
free razr
free phone
free mastercards
play poker
hacking programs
free money
play free games
free stuff
notavirus.exe <- not kidding, seriously...

And others....

I suggest you re-install the computer?

 

scan your pc get rid of all viruses, Delete history cookies.

Go to start > control pane > delete unwanted programs.!

Scan your computer atleast once a day for a week or two and don't download anything.

OR Reformat your system about 2-3 weeks back.

delete anything downloaded in the last couple of days

 

it would be easiest to just fdisk, format, fdisk then reinstall windowz just get the CD key http://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder.shtml because some trojans are downloader trojans that keep downloading more junk on your machine, then there could be a medley of other lovely things that you would have to remove and probably some manually so yea....
