Eh, I don't think RS works on this comp >help me?

Well i'm at my grandmas using the shittiest computer in the world.. Dell Optiflex GXa 95.. with windows 98 OP. Well anyone I load RS and when it gets halfway loading it, it stops and it says there was an error and IE needs to close.. i've tried countless times and it doesnt work, and I thinkk the comp has java otherwise RS wouldn't load at all.. it might be that this comp can't handle RS or something.. but if anyone knows the problem then help me please...

 

Same thing happens to some of the computers in my school, they are all the same, half play it and half dont. I think i saw something about this posted somewhere, ill look for it.

 

Try using a different browser, I.E., Firefox. If not try updating your java via http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

 

i don't really want to download firefox but i guess i will

 

okay well i got ff and went to play rs and it said i needed new java so i got it and now rs works but it's waay to slow to play.. it's like having the worst lag ever without it leaving.. is there any way to speed it up?

 

lol at my school they blocked rs cause it had violence.... and im in middle school...

 

u could mess with config in firefox to make it faster theres a couple threads on it in technical support

 

Of couse' RuneScape should run fine on that computer, did you install Java runtime enviorment? Maybe try running RuneScape on an unsigned applet.

 

All schools block rs, lol, anyways, trying upgrading your java otehrwise I have no idea.

 

Get a new computer.
