What team will be on top for both the East and West conferences?

I'm going to go with the Pacers instead of the Cavs, because of the off season acquisitions they made.

The west is going to be dominated by Golden State for the next 2-3 years lol.

 

Western - Warriors will top the Spurs in the WC finals. I think SA will still do great, even without Timmy, because really they have a powerful lineup.
Eastern - Cavs have a very good chance, but hopefully the Bulls / Knicks come back. I'm really hoping the Knicks make the conf. finals.

Who else did the Pacers aquire?

 

Pacers acquired Jeff Teague and Al Jefferson.

Knicks need to stay healthy, if they do they have a fighting chance.
In the bulls case, i don't think they'll make it very far unless they develop their shooting or bring in some shooters.

 

Bulls have the ability to go pretty far, having Butler, Wade, and Rondo with orchestrating the offense, they can hopefully allow themselves to work unselfishly and become a better team.

As you said, Knicks need to stay healthy to allow themselves to even have any sort of chance. Although, really they only have a strong starting lineup. Rose (hopefully, if not Jennings), Carmelo, Noah, Porzingis, and Courtney Lee are really the most valuable players.

 

Jeff Teague is a downgrade from George Hill and Al Jefferson isn't an uptempo player. The cavs being the top seed is inevitable unless Lebron gets injured which has never happened in his career thus far. Pacers is a 2 seed at most, realistically a 3rd or 4th.

Golden state will be neck and neck with the spurs. I don't think they will dominate like they did last season. A main reason for this is their bench.

Their bench isn't terrible. They still have Iguodala, McGee (assuming they start Pachouli at center), David West and Varejao. Ian Clark didn't get many minutes last year, but he definitely progressed throughout the year. Their bench isn't by any means the strongest, but they have the power to grow and improve.

I do agree with you though, Spurs have a stacked roster as well, bench and all.

I think a key to success for the Cavs (although most people won't agree), is trying to compromise and re-sign J.R. Smith.

 

I disagree, the warriors bench is one of the better in the NBA. I think one of the warriors starters (Durant/Draymond) Should start on the bench. While they're both super stars They need some roleplayers to be out there that can just set up the big hitters. You can't have all your best players out at once. Though i'm no expert so I must be missing something since don't already do that. But Draymond/Durant on the bench can provide a lot of late game damage.

 

That bench is terrible after the 6th man. McGee is trash, David West isn't an uptempo player and he's old, Varejo is just there to flop when necessary and Clark isn't an ideal point guard.

 

Pretty sure we will see either GSW vs Spurs or Clippers in the WCF and a surprising Pacers or celtics vs Cavs in the ECF lol

Agreed, they've had a pretty good lineup the last 4-5 years or so and somehow they blow it every year.

 

East - Cavs, West Spurs.. Cavs win finals in 6 at San Antonio
