Illegal immigration - your view?

Illegal immigrants is obviously bad, but what about immigrants in general, if it wasent for immigrants we wouldnt have obama as a president in the USA. this thread definetly made me think long and hard about this topic. thanks!

 

Grant amnesty to all illegal immigrants so we can tax them properly. That makes more economic sense than driving them all out, building walls around our borders... Or doing whatever else is necessary to keep them out.

But good luck to the Americans who suggested that, getting rid of what... 7% of their population?

If you let undocumented workers into mainstream society, they'll be able to work and pay taxes legally.

So i guess when they make money in the US, rob american people for money, dont pay there taxes and then send there money back to some country like mexico or colombia it isnt hurting the economy?

We were already 9Trillion dollars in debt..he didn't put us in anymore debt than the previous people have.

If they get the jobs, then that is the Americans fault. Of course people are going to hire people that are thankful working for 10$ an hour, instead of bitchy americans complaining about making 20$ an hour, thats just common sense.

I personally believe that it's fine as long as they have no legal convictions and only came here looking for work and a better life for them and their family, if they are able to pass the test. Unless they start abusing the system then it's a problem.

and to all that are bitching and complaining about mexicans taking "your jobs" its called outsourcing, if i have a business ima rather prefer paying $10/hr over having to pay someone $12-13/hr obviously my pay would be within the law.

 

Politically, it's at least a viable means of scapegoating. I think whatever else it might be is very dependent on who you ask. It certainly isn't going to stop, and different issues will arise depending on where the immigrants are from.

 

It's a complex situation and frankly I don't know the answer. But having many close friends who are illegal here are a few things to consider.

1) They abide by the law more than others. They have more to lose!
2) They do jobs you would never want to do. If every illegal was deported there wouldn't be enough people to landscape, farm or work in factories.
3) They don't excessively complain or insult you. They work much harder than citizens. I don't know where some of you guys got that from.
4) For people who argue make everyone who is already here legal. That's only going to encourage more people to come.

 

Well it depends:
* If they're escaping from war or any terrible situation it's understandable: we would do same if our country was being invaded and had no safety and no guarantee we'd still be alive the next day.
* If they're looking for better opportunities, better pay: who doesn't want to live in better conditions and dream big(ger)?

That been said, yes it is a problem as some immigrants do cause problems but only because they know they're not welcomed and then the cycle continues: people hate them, so they stay together and hate the country and only use it for $$ and safety.
In the end, they fucking love the country - they're just too blind to see it or admit it.

 

To all the racist folks on this thread,
1. Most of them are hard working people, they don't complain what kind of job they have, just give them a spade and they'll start digging.

2. They're not here to take away jobs, they're here for a better opportunity just like everyone else who came here Legally, that's including Arabians,Asians,Germans,etc .

3.It's hard for them to learn English becuase they spend most of their time Building the homes Where you live in Today!. Working 2-3 jobs ..have 4-5 hours of sleep, THEY HAVE a family to feed, just like all of you.

4.You don't see them in the middle of the street begging for money , I see alot of white folks walking around asking me for money it's so annoying becuase i lost count how much money I gave them, like no get your lazy self up and look for a job and throw that alcohol bottle away.

5.Its not just Mexicans, go back to history class and you should know that .. Salvador Ian's, cubans,Brazilians,chile,Argentina,all the southern country's have to cross the Mexican border to get to the USA. So get your mind straight becuase it's not just Mexicans you have Asians and Arabians coming here illegally too.
