Ban Venmo From Sythe

Actually no, if you say you sent it to the wrong person or accidently sent it, Venmo can't do anything to help you:


^They will only reverse the payment if both parties give permission.

 

If it's that bad, just make a sticky warning users about using it.

 

No support, like @Admires said, might aswell ban account sales too then rofl, they can just as easily be recovered.

Pretty much this.

The site is here to facilitate transactions while trying to make trades as safe as possible. If you feel uncomfortable using it, then don't use it. This makes you less attractive to people who do want to transact via Venmo. Those 'merchants' willing to take the risk will serve those customers, and obtain that profit.

If it's as big a 'problem' as what is being made, then we shouldn't prevent people from using it as a payment method; people can elect to satisfy their own preferences and appetite for risk, no need for us to make that decision for them. If it's a small problem, then there's no big issue in allowing the very few people who do use it to continue using it.

There's literally I'd say 2-4 venmo threads being bumped/made every day in the gold section, I've been reporting them but nothings been being done.

This should be approved and a ban instituted or a warning made ASAP.

 

A ban for using vemmo is the dumbest thing I've heard

Just like PayPal theres a risk involved, chargeback. If that user is trustworthy then they won't chargeback. It's the same with this case, if the user is trustworthy they won't chargeback with vemmo.

This is a stupid thread because I know someone who pays with vemmo and is legit.

It's the blackmarket shady shit is going to happen that's like saying paypal needs banned because someone can charge it back they don't allow virtual goods to be sold either (well they don't like it)

I think making the risk of vemmo more known yes, but not ban it from the complete market. Otherwise just ban every payment with the slightest advantage to a scammer because it conflicts on them to

No support if people choose to take it as a payment option let them do so. Why limit a free market because risk is associated with it. Not everyone is a scammer and we can't presume so. Also agree with the account sales argument, that people can always recover them but we still allow them to be sold.

If I took the time to make the suggestion its because (I) as a major trader felt it was a threat to Sythe.

IF u guys want to let them get fucked over, feel free lol, not my problem, but if my attempts to help don't get accepted I'm simply not going to bother, don't come crying to me when people are dumb enough to sell and lose all their $.

Cant be bothered for a 5 page explanation, either accept it or don't.

 

We've determined that the best action here is to make a sticky in the gold sections warning people about the risks of Venmo. It would not be in keeping with the spirit of a free market to outright restrict a form of payment but it is definitely beneficial to inform people about the high risk of reversal when selling gold for Venmo. Thank you all for your input
