Attempted Scam: Pen Imposter

Watch out for the email: [email protected] while the REAL Pen's is [email protected].

This guy added me, claiming to be Pen, his name was something like "PEN- SYTHE MODERATOR - FREE MMING BUT ONLY ON WEEKENDS!" or something.

He claimed that I had supposedly donated mils and that I was under pending investigation for an upgrade to modship or some such. Then asked if I had anything for sale or if I was buying anything on Sythe. I said I had an account, he asked about it, asked how much... asked how I would do the deal, I said I wouldn't use an MM if they went first, otherwise I'd use one, and if he was willing, most likely him.

He went on to say "What if I were to buy it?" And I said, well, you are Pen after all, so I'd trust you. He claimed he'd pay a mil extra if I went first. I gave him name and pass. Then got a bad feeling.

I looked up Pen, realized the wrong email and confronted him, and he said he got a new one, that he had posted it in a thread on Sythe. I asked to see it, and he logged off.

I checked my account, he had changed the pass. Fortunately there was nothing on it for him to steal so I recovered it.

End of story.
