    Religion holding modern society together.

Our government was based on religious principles from the very beginning. The 10 Commandments are the foundation of our moral government.

The 10 commandments are holding modern society together all laws are mainly based on these commandments. Without them the moder and civilised world as we know it falls apart.

The Ten Commandments, and all other references to God, which have served as the moral foundation and anchor of our great country, are systematically being removed from public places.

No civilized society or government can exist successfully without the recognition, acceptance and submission to Moral law and the standard for value judgment. Therefore, the principle of Freedom demands the protection of God's moral law.
Why has this been done when its holding our governments together.???

Why are they trying to remove it?
    Discuss.

I will be adding more information later

Well, the 10 commandments are pretty good rules to follow, but people can live with out them in the government, we all know whats right and wrong.

The federal government passed a law saying nothing can be worn on your face when taking your drivers license picture. Weeks ago the supreme court ruled that two muslim women can get their picture taken with their face covered...

    Sounds fair right?

Moral law and religion are not necessarily intertwined...for example, it's not like I don't murder people left, right, and center because I'm afraid of God's retribution, I don't do it because I have no desire to, and I know that it's wrong.

Hmmm well i dont really read the bible alot, but isnt the goverment going to have the anti christ as president? maybe its slowly leading to that point.. and think of life before religous values were in the world... people only died, and suffered, kings lived in prison cells, and people were tortured.. at least in school in goegraphy thats what they said... and people were exicuted for weird reasons.. slowly and painfuly... their body parts would also go on display around the city's? horrible hell back then... compare the world then to the world 5 years ago

Well, My opinion is that the christian beliefs have absolutely nothing to do with laws that are slowly being released... I.E. australias new anti terrorism laws, while i do not know it mohammad haneef is guilty or not he is being held without charge for nearly a month... Now the bible says treat your brother as you wish to be treated... I am sure we dont all want to be sent to jail without even having done anything wrong.

as well as this the death penalty is against christian beliefs too... God and jesus support eternal forgiveness, how is killing someone offering them achance to repent or anything ??? If the laws were really based of the 10 commandments we wouldnt have death penalties anywhere and it would be replace by some kind of counselling or similar (whilst still in jail)

The ten commandments, bible, etc.. were supposedly made/written thousands of years ago. It's not reasonable to suggest that they should still be some sort of determining factor for any laws. This is because the changes made from that point until now were unpredictable. They worked then, not now.

Moving on though, religion was supposed to be a sort of governing system when it was created by men. Obviously though, it now only serves as a conflict creator (like in the Middle East).

Today i read a magazine about Australian heritage. And in the document that declares the Unify of the states, It said with the blessings of God our land will thrive. or something along those lines and that meant allot to me, I'm sure in the declaration of independence it also says something similar.

I just read that and , i think the counselling idea would be pretty good, since as i said many times the death penalty has no purpose

I understand your lack of desire, but how do you know that something is wrong? How can something be wrong if there is no divine law against it?
    Explain this, logically.

We couldn't possibly live without rules. Without rules there would be chaos.

Sorry but you're kind of wrong on that one.

    http://nobeliefs.com/Tripoli.htm

Also, the Ten Commandments aren't special, the basics of them are found in every civilization. Morals are developed by societies to keep the peace. Murder is considered "bad" because it hinders the every day lives of the people. Consider a country in Africa where killing other humans is a necessity in order to survive, for entertainment, or otherwise. It wouldn't be considered "bad" there would it? Of course not.
