Let's see... Death Metal? It can be about all kinds of things. The only reason it's called "Death Metal" is because the riffs are often very fast paced and technical. One Thing is for sure though. I have NEVER EVER in my life heard a Metal band sing about raping people, shooting people because it's fun or go on about stupid facts nobody wants to hear. In fact, most metal bands have a message that shows importance in today's society.

 

Umm...rap is ok, metal is ok, emo is ok, jazz is ok, music is ok, the world just needs to grow up really. Rap is always going to be here, trying to get it removed makes you a facsist. Same goes for any other type of music/religion/movies.

I hate those fake statistic things as well. There is plenty of talented rap and it suits it's purpose, although I wouldn't listen to it much it has it's times when I give it a play.

i think anyone can rap if you are good at rhyming and have a good beat, the people who talk are probably really crappy singers anyway. but still it's bad and all my friends like it, however i do like the gorillaz a little. But seriously it's degrading women and that whole african american/african race. Try listening to like drum and bass, it has no words but the beats blow your mind. Or techno you'll find that it's fun to dance to.

 

Fact of the matter, Alot of Rap music is popular culture nowadays, if you don't like then thats fine, if you do thats fine too. You people diss other peoples taste in music because its different from your own. Its much like teasing someone because their skin colour is different from your own. Ya it may be monotonic and use mainly drums, but there was no guitars in African tribes a long time ago, or anything else like that (yes, I am speaking of when it was born). MANY of you need to realize MUSIC DOESN'T REQUIRE A GUITAR. If you think that what is said in rap music is bad, you aren't looking much at rock yourself. Strawberry Fields Forever by the Beatles is about an acid trip. Bodom Beach Terror by Children of the Bodom is about murdering people in a gruesome way. There are many more examples I could go on about, but I really cant be assed to. WE EACH LIKE OUR OWN TYPES OF MUSIC SO STOP FUCKING DISSING ANY TYPE OF MUSIC.

Anyone who has the money can pay someone to write a song for them and get someone to make a shitty beat and then record you singing with a shitty voice with the beat and then editing your voice to make it seem better... Seriously, rap takes no talent. All you need is money... The only rappers I have the least bit of respect for are the ones that go on the street and think of rhymes on the spot.. Also there are so many rock/pop songs that are remakes of OLD ROCK/POP SONGS. So your arguement about paying someone to write a song is an ignorant statement. Rap can be classified as music because music is defined as "an artistic form of auditory communication incorporating instrumental or vocal tones in a structured and continuous manner". Nowhere in there did it say that it has to have a guitar like most rock enthusiasts seem to believe, or that there has to be a set of instruments. Rap is music and so is Rock, as well as Pop and Country and Reggae and all other types. Now do you have anymore bullshit you need to say or are you done lying about your choice in music or will you just stop bitching about how rap is not music when it clearly is.
