Just A Good Question?

Okay see me and my friend want to start makieng videos of me and him and friends pking together. Now my computer is not fast enough to be able to record the video, so I offerd to edit it. By editing it I mean maybe adding special effects and like words at the start of the vid and music, You know stuff to make it look good. I was just wondering how and what id need to be able to do this...

Please anything you could do to help, words of wisdom or advice or telling me how tro do this would be great thanked.
