Botnets are illegal, you obviously have never seen the news where a 25 year old or a 28 year old is arrested after an AOL bust that shows they are using a botnet. It happens every so often and we are well due for a new story about it.

 

Why would they not? There's Blackmail among the more obvious others. Just becuase it's a virtual attack, that doesn't mean it's not real. The Internet Is Real.

DDOS isn't considered hacking, so, don't even say that.

If Sythe could, I'm sure he could take the kids to court for damages. Of course, he would need to find out who they are. (The hard part)

Technically, if you are DDoSing, you need a botnet, which basically "hacks" into other computers to have them attack.

 

I say we find out where this asshole lives, there's bound to be someone in that state that can go and personally whoop the guys ass. I call him if he lives in Ohio =)

you dont always need a botnet to ddos, you just need proper skills/hardware (haha possiably cisco i hear) and a decent pc or 2, and = win

DDoSing is NOT hacking, period - all it does is send a bunch of requests to the site to make it slow to a halt. Putting a botnet on someone's computer is not really hacking either unless you made the botnet yourself and didn't just use someone else's tool like a script kiddy. -_-
