Buying service/ domain name

Looking to start my own gold website, however my experience with running a smaller end business is there. Web development and fields around that is an enigma to me. If someone would help me with some advice on the website its self, I'm also looking to hire a web developer who will also help me learn.

I also have a domain in mind and its available am I able to purchase that domain? or is it only rent able
