Glad someone could take the time to put some information together and collectively showcase some of the prominent issues that are displayed especially on this site and with the online gaming community as a whole. I used to be a flower gambling host, so I wasn't particularly into gambling it self and I'm glad I wasn't. There were times where I would risk if I was betting, and I would just continue, but it was more for just a one off fun time. It is sad that it can become actually very very addictive and even as a small time bettor it would be an addictive thing, where you assume you will win more, or you think you have the better and upper hand so you continue. In the end you wont realise you've just lost all your money, you then go on to find sources of borrowing money to feed the addiction. Gambling via an online site is as much a problem as it is in IRL, as is any other addiction.

It is also sad that such a small aspect from a game where you attempt to make money can lead to further problems, especially when a healthy amount of money is involved. When your on a site where gambling and dicing is very prominent, and it used to a very big aspect of say RuneScape in the day; you don't realise that just a game, can become something that essentially can ruin your life instantly. Just by betting, or attempting to win more, the addiction then craves more fuel, and the more fuel you add to the fire, the bigger the fire burns, when this fire burns it will eventually burn everything around you and all that you are. If you're sat there questioning whether you playing a game and throwing a few solid amount of cash around may actually be causing you harm, then you need to speak to someone and voice that concern. You may not even know you're in a situation where gambling is even being an issue to you, just realise that it may be and you should take precautions to ensure your well-being is a priority.

Every time i feel like staking i check this thread out again. I don't want to be in a hole especially as i have alot of game time. If your playing to be instantly rich then nothing will ever be enough. I know people £1000's in debt purchasing rsgp and cs:go items and gp just to log into a website and gamble it away. They may as wel of gone onto a casino website and put it all on red or black.

The concerning thing is is that gambling via games doesn't feel like its gambling. I guess if you've earned the gp it isn't, but if your source of gp is buying it your in major trouble.

 

hey man, im glad this thread helps you out. yeah, it honestly doesnt feel like gambling at all on a video game. but if you think about it, it is the start to a bigger problem if you dont it in the back of your mind that you can only gamble what you can spare. i see way too often that people dice and have trouble paying back debts and whatnot on here, imagine how they are on rs or something, yanno?
