Whats up with all these skype accounts getting hacked?

Wasn't too sure where to post this so

Lately many of the big Sythe gold sellers have had their skype accounts hacked.
I'm pretty sure R2Anne/Kevin001 don't go easy on keeping their accounts secure. So it's pretty worrying seeing this happen.
Is there any more info on how their skype accounts get hacked?

There's a number of reasons why they could've been hacked:
1. They used an insecure password. (unlikely)
2. The hacker found their passwords from a leaked database of a forum they visited and they use the same password for multiple websites and skype. (likely)
3. They didn't enable 2FA on their skype/microsoft account. (likely)

 

there's more way's than quoted above, you just never know good hackers do crazy shit

 

They prob SE skype support and got by that in their skype accounts.
They mask their IP to almost same IP address as the target.
They got full DOX on the victim.

 

Any skype can be hacked by anyone, people who say 2fa protects you are ignorant or are simply misinformed.

There were over 100 million Gmails sold on the dark web(I saw a thing on MSN about it) which were all 2fa'd, literally did nothing to stop the hacker from gaining access to the emails through googles servers or w/e(which is what he compromised).


I'm of the firm opinion that 2fa is simply a deterrent to hacking a skype or sythe, not a foolproof method.

The best things you can do to help deter skype hackings are:
-Use a Microsoft account that is 2fa enabled to login skype.
-Don't save ur skype password when it asks u to
-Don't click strange links
-Make sure the 2fa u have enabled is via ur phone only, not email.
-Only use skype when needed, don't sit on it 24/7
-Run a weekly virus scan even if u think ur fine
-Don't use a password u've ever used before, try to use a 8-12 digit PW that has a variety of #'s,letters, & symbols if u can, something that is made up or unrelated to u is great, don't use family, friends or personal info as PW's, I've made up around a dozen completely fake words when I make pw's.

Not hard to not get hacked just don't click or do anything that has risk of ssomething
