GUIDE: How to become a successful merchant

============= PART 1 - YOURSELF =============
OK, so this is the tough part. If you haven't been rich before, and you want to become rich, you will most likely sell your items for about a 5K profit when you can get above 5K profit for the item you are selling. Always look for a max price on things, and go for he max price. This is the most important rule of merchanting, do not give up and sell your item for a hopeless price that brings in no profit.

============= PART 2 - THINGS TO MERCHANT =============

MONEY TO SPEND: 25K

If you have only 25K to merchant, i suggest merchanting willow logs. Alot of people cheap logs in free to play, and you can sell for more in pay to play because of the high demand for fletching. This will give you about a 5K profit for each 25K you spend. Buy for 20, sell for 25-30. This should get you up to the next item.

MONEY TO SPEND: 300K

This kinda hard so i would use the above method until you have enough money for the next item to merchant. But if you like, you could find a desperate soul selling his d med for cheap, and buy it, and sell it for about 300-330K. Make sure you buy for under 300K though. Good luck with this, it made me about 400K but took donkeys years.

MONEY TO SPEND: 2000K

This bit is easy! Find a guy selling a whip for a decent price, hop a few worlds and in alot of worlds you shoud find a guy buying whips for about 2.6M or some insanely over-the-top price like that. Sell it to him/her. I made over 3M from this and brings in good profit.

MONEY TO SPEND: 7000K

Buy 10 zamorak/guthix/saradomin platebodies for 700-750K each.. Use the tab in the corner of the login screen to keep switching worlds, but close and open until world 1 is available. Now sell them in varrock or falador for 1M each and there is your easy 250-300K profit. Brings in alot, about 2.5-3M at a time.

MONEY TO SPEND: 11M

This is pretty easy. Go to world 2 and try to buy a dragon chainbody for 11M (it will be hard, but it doesnt take long if there are lots of sellers). Once you have it, sell it for 13M in a less populated world. Brings in 2M per trade and doesnt take very long. You can even rise to 12M each after you have done your first trade to make it easier buying but less profit.

MONEY TO SPEND: 22M

EASIEST MERCHANTING STARTS NOW. Buy 1 Santa hat for 19M, and sell it for 22M on he forums or if you see anyone buying. You can also use a h'mask as a substitute but you have to do this for 1-2 months to make substantial profit.

MONEY TO SPEND: 170M+

Merchant yellow or purple partyhats now. Buy purple for 135Mea, sell for 144-145Mea, buy yellow for 155Mea, sell for 160-165Mea. Easiest money in the whole world. Takes you to 1000M in no time, and you can spend your profit on very nice/rare items in the mean time.


============= PART 3 - OTHER PEOPLE =============

Other people will be tough on you and tell you that you are a n00b and try to put you down in your attempt to become a merchant. Ignore them, i did, and look at me, im a master merchant with 1.42Billion in the bank.

============= CHECKING PRICES =============

PLEASE BE AWARE OF PRICES. THEY RISE AND FALL AND ALWAYS ASK AROUND OR VISIT A DAILY UPDATED FANSITE FOR ITEM PRICES. DO NOT BUY FOR A HIGH PRICE AND SELL FOR A LOW.

Read this:

Whips can be bought for approx 1.5-1.7M each. If you hop worlds alot and your in seers bank you're likely to find someone crazy that is buying a whip for 2.6M or so. It doesn't happen alot but it does happen. I've done each of these steps so don't flame and say they are impossible.

In my opinion this is a great guide, short, but it gets to the point, and thats what i like about it ...

 

i tried it , started with 40k and now i have 200k i used the wilows part alot and it took forever!

 

You're horrible at prices!! If you buy each Guthix Platebody for 750k you'll lose like 200-300k!! Guthix platebodies are only 400-450k!

I've used previous guides, all of them suck. I lost over a mill. Nice outdated prices.
