No Respect for User Education? It's Getting Old.

User Education is a failure just waiting on the edge.

I went through the application. I used shitty guides and still got in. Make i more strict and they quality of the section will increase dramatically. Permissions wise. You can't ban people if your a sectional, i think you guys can use the section ban mod? You can already request a bad via PM/msn with a global. Other sectionals have access to the staff lounge because we need to ban people constantly. UE - One of the least active forums, why do you need to ban anyone? Guide ripping? I'm sure a ban like that can wait until you talk to a global. Market, we have scammers/Keyloggers etc Plus alot of spam. Runescape section has Keyloggers/spam. GFX can have keyloggers/spam. UE - Has crappy guides that you delete. No one is going to post a keylogger there because they can't.

So why do you need to search IP's and have staff lounge access?

yea seriously gfx section so many dam resources and most of em end with a trojan. so gotta delete em and scan most if I havn't scanned usually leave a don't download yet message.

@ Deacon: I love the ideas, i wish they would work but as Steph said, it wont happen.

@ Yakov: You talk about people who 'Police' a certain section, who is there to 'police' ours? No one, you could maybe help, its your job after all.

@ Daily: COME BACK!!!!!!! That was Unknown idea about the 1 guide/month, it hasnt been done for the past 2 months. Also, look at the private forum, see what we just shot down. Just ask and you can have it back . Same for Cool372.

@ Steph: Thankyou for takin the time to read the whole post, (Same for everyone), although you shot down most of the ideas there are TWO i would like to see happen, which is having a place for normal people to post guides. As you might remember i asked for that months ago, and it SORT of happened but then it didnt. Also make the "Tech Support" part of UE, it will give HUE's more to do (When they are bored) and also im sure it would get answered more frequently. When Unknown left, he told me that i could ask you for advice, help etc. Appreciate the work you have done, but you werent really here to help much. Maybe it was your exams, ill let you off

@ Ryan: I need the I.P search because some mods dont know how to use it properly (when i ask them to) And others just don't do it. They ignore me.

I say;

1) Remove all of the crap worthless guides, regardless of what their creators say. If it's shit, throw it out. Pretty much starting afresh with a head start.

2) Tougher and more stringent control on applications. We do not really care if you can make 5 paper planes out of an A4 piece of paper, however we do if you can write yourself a PHP integrated website.

3) Tougher control on guides that are posted by UE. Pretty much of you're crap on more than two consecutive occasions, we throw you out. How do you think they keep performance so high at "smart" schools, the idiots can't get in to begin with, and if by any freak chance they do, they get weeded out, and throw out.

I may add some more later when I have time.

 

I totally agree with cool we should really make the QUALITY higher thats all we need if we can offer high quality for free people will come in and use our guides. Guides will only be used if they're useful, no? throw the crap out and start over with DECENT guides. I've osted before in the privete forum that I am not happy with the application process at all. It's too much a struggle to stay alive as UE section.

Additionally the section as a whole should come alive. There hasn't been much activity by most of the UE's at all. I don't think there should be a minimum of guides you should post in a certain time since that could become a cause for posting shitty guides and we will be stuck with the same shit we have now.

I say keep the UE's that really care and be more strict. My advice towards HUE's. Also @ ??? I think the HUE's are doing a great job considering the mess there is at the moment.

Does anyone here other than deacon know how tough it is to do the job of HUE? It's hard. Yeah. Deacon EARNED his position, and he deserves it more than any one of you. User educators took their time to write a minimum of 5 guides, sure, some do it for the rank, some do it for the true purpose, sharing your knowledge.

 

I think deacon is on a power trip.

But on the other hand, not many people get respect around here... from staff members atleast unless they have yellow phats... That's why I don't give much respect, you must get it to give it my friend.

 

Deacon sorry to be a bitch but, this has been what ue has been about. They have never gotten much respect but you still get more than regular members. When you think about it thats better than nothing because it sure as hell isnt hard to become a ue.

It isnt going to change just because you are now h.u.e and you want respect. It isnt the way it goes and Im pretty sure it wont change anytime soon. I agree with x9 I find that all you ever want is the rank and to be more known, and its not about that, you dont see any mods that dont do anything. They mod the forum and dont expect anything back because it is for the comunity! Iv seen you bitching about how you can see the staff forum either. I find thats the only reason why you even want h.u.e so you can pretend you have power and boss people around in the user ed section and so that you can push and hope that you will beable to see the staff lounge. It wont happen so stop being a ignorent prick and pushing it, you even know it wont happen but do it anyways.

 

I just think head user edd's (well deacon) do alot of work..
