Need help finding out IP through MSN

hmm.. i think this might work open command prompt click start/run type in cmd than it should come up a black window type in netstats. than type netstat-n now you should see the person ip

 

This will only work if you have established a direct connection with him, which can be done thru sending a file or (in which case he'll have your ip as well), the MSN protocol is mainly server based (at least up to ver 10) or else all what you gonna see are the msn servers.

BUT ! (and yes there is a but)

His IP is generally useless unless you want to ban him from a forum or from accessing your network in the future, as generally this is the ip of his external router (or adsl modem or whatever), AND ips are generally volatile not talking about proxying cases.

 

They used to think you could get it through connection logging, but like Larry said, it obtains the MSN server's IP.
