People get hacked .. but how?

Hi guys..
Everyday in forums i see like 10001029029 peoples got hacked..
my real-frineds got hacked ..
just asking a simple question:
how they get hacked like easy like this..
1) may be they enter their password on other sites(my rl frined didn't)
2) no recveries?
..

i really dunno and wanna just from anyone to tell me some examples to convince me.

 

i dunno.. simple password i guess.. a brute forcer can get 5-6 digit passwords in about an hour.. the java scripts are harder to get though because rs logins are all java..
and some of em could be lyin to see if u donate stoof..

 

Keylogger? A player may look up cheating devices for runescape on google, download them, they have a virus, and it can steal your password.

Gfs and Bfs. An online Gf may ask her bf questions that are his recovery questions, and possibly ask him for previous passwords (very risky)

Yeah, simple passwords, such as their name followed by their age such as Jimmy15

 

Or using the same password everywhere , on forums, on rs, on wow etc, you'll end up using it in same "place" and they take your account.

 

You sure he didn't put his password in on a fake website? I know a mate of myne who phishes and advertises fake websites on runescape and says its a link to the forum, suprisingly he makes good profit from it, there are some stupid players out there. Anyways, if it's not something like that then he's probably just downloaded an infected file.

They probably get hacked using a password cracker.

 

Password crackers is one way. Contrary to what others may say, it's still very common.

Phishing is also a way to hack accounts.

I won't get into much detail, since it's not allowed.

Tips to Not get hacked:

Use a hard password ! If your password is Blue, your more likely to get hacked.

Try using a password like xxbluexx4356 <<(Not mines, so don't get yerr hopes up. )

Never EVER enter your stuff on a website other than www.RunesCape.com. Regardless of what they say.

And I you really really wanna be sure your password can't be stolen? Just use the onscreen board to type it. And don't use that same password on ANY other site!

 

Well, usually if people aren't careful about where they're logging in, they can get hacked.

All kinds of ways, friends figure out friends passwords and get greedy, viruses/keyloggers, crackers, stupid passwords...lots of things.

 

its probly dumb people that put there password as there name or they are fakin it

I got hacked because i had staked a dude and stole like 40m from him, then he says lol and logs then i got an msn message to a site i went to it thinking non the wiser and it looked like any other porn site so i started to dl one thing then a popup comes and says gj pervert, Your fucked gg noob.
So i immediatly got rid of it but because of es and me having my pw in it i got owned faster then i could delete it...

 

That was very slick of the guy. Sucks, cause then you lost 40M and your 40M you staked with and more im guessing.

 

Prob had an easy password to guess. look at sticky at top and see if password was safe.

If you accept files from people, go to a website someone advertised, you're going to get keylogged. That's why it's better to not do so, UNLESS you trust the person, but even if you've known them lets say on Runescape for over a year, they could still do it to you, along with real life friends, Runescape is a addicting game and anything is possible, that's why most people don't trust ANYONE anymore, peoples so much stuff can happen. In my own opinion, I have never been hacked only scammed once, but was only a fury and I got a new one with-in a hour later haha anyways, so like, if you do download something/accept a file, just scan it before doing so (along with autos) because those are easy to put keyloggers into... ALWAYS scasn your computer before/after you download/accept something.
Oh and having a hard password that's memorable (to you) is a good idea!

 

id suggest using a long pass(dont forget it lol) and sometimes use leet speak its harder to guess example n00bs die lol is a long pass using leet speak
