There's a risk this is true, yes. But it's also very likely he's telling the truth as the show is fairly popular.

While there is a risk and will always be a risk the best option is to exercise caution and just not trade with anyone you aren't comfortable trading with. If you publicly call someone out and accuse them of doing something they haven't, or even have done but there is no proof, it'll likely just lead to you being infracted.
