IP bans, why arn't there more?

They will just proxy anyway's.

 

I'm sure a lot of the ban evaders do get ip banned.

well proxy's dont work. and wont work. they may work untill the world screeen. but after that ... it goes back to their normal IP. they also can be running off of Dial-up and have a dynamic IP. thats what i would do if i was them. at least they r being smart asses about it.

 

So if you were banned you would use a dynamic IP and re-join?

That Oh Jesus guy posts backseat mod posts all the fucking time. Usually the same shit aswell in Black Market section. Anyways, IP banning doesn't really get you anywhere. I know of some ISP's that change IP's completely when the modem is reset.

THere are on average about 15-20 new IPs added to the request an IP ban topic a day... Just because you can't see the topic doesn't mean its not there... Trust me... On top of this sectional mods cannot IP ban and i dont think globals can either... So we have to just ban them normally and wait for someone else to put the IP bans through

 

Dynamic I.P or Proxy. Yipee, you just cheated an I.P ban.

Sorry to rain on your prade The Viper000 but... If you use firefox proxy it will work, if you download a proxy it will work.

Many proxies work. Guess what? The proxy blocker we have, only blocks out biggar name proxy sites, aswell as some other HTTP proxies. As for SOCKS 4 and SOCKS 5 proxies, not a single one is blocked.

Maybe in the future there will be a better defense against it, but for now, it's very easy to get around and almost pointless to IP ban. It would almost be better to not IP ban, and just wait till they create another account, then ban it, because they wouldn't think to proxy if they could still create new accounts.

 

Maybe because they don't have someone more to ban?

A lot of people get banned for having the same IP address as someone who got banned (2 scammers = 1 IP0

Plus its kind of hard to add ALL people to IP list, Mods try their best.
