First off, people who are saying it's dumb for white kids to listin to rap? YOU ARE SUCH A STEROTYPE! People can listin to whatever music they want. Just because I am white and I like to listin to rap what is the problem? Now I do like to listin to rap. On the other hand I do like to listin to rock. Another thing for the people who are saying "Oh this and that is dead and this type of music pwns all the others." No certin type of music is better than any other. There is NO best genre. What kind of music YOU like is completly opinion and before you go slander other people for whatever kind of music they like, take a second and think about what you are saying.

And, yes there is music better then the others. Metal contains the best musicans, as proven by all their solos, use of all instruments (Yes, there are symphonetic metal bands, don't even try and say we only use 3 instruments), and outperforms both audience and loyalty-wise any other genre.

but to address the topic at hand, i believe personally that rock has better musical quality. however, i like rap better. why is this? it is just plain addictive lol, the beats are mesmerizing and THAT is the reason why it has become so popular. Also, if it matters at all to Sythe I am african american.



My favorite rap artists DO NOT include 50 cent and the like...instead i like artists like Common, Kanye(in his early years), Game, and Lupe Fiasco. Listen to some of their songs, they have real meaning.

Nothing against other rap songs either, I have to admit alot of the dance songs even though they have no real substance to them... are very catchy lol.

 

i like em both but if i had to choose id choose rock cause rage against the machine owns all!!!!!!

Metal or any type of rock will take way more talent
then some guy pressing a few fingers on a snyth for about 4 mins,
second of all most rappers arent "gangsters" you hear them all talking about
killing people and shit, but most of them don't do that
i find it kind of amusing that kids in gangs and shit idolize a fake idol...
plus who would wanna go out spraying tags and shit when you could smoke a joint...
or if your gonna tag at all, at least put some effort into it.

Rock easily wins. There's absolutely no contest, no room for disagreement. How can Eminem compete with Iron Maiden, Rammstein, Zepplin, The Doors, etc.?

That was basically the only decent statement in this "debait"...I like both rock and rap. There two completely different styles and I dont see how one can be better than the other. It's all your preference. Personally I like both.
