you can't give your honest feedback on this forum and get staff. you have to go the the staff feedback thread and get their dick wet a bit and then proceed to blow them on every other thread. whenever a promotion comes up you have to say "congrats, well deserved" even though you don't agree with it at all. that's how you get staff.

 

I would have argued the same thing circa individuals like Finn running staff and that hasn't been the case for a while. I had been voicing my opinion on "issues" for a while before I was promoted and was directly involved in the shit storms of spyike and the skype crew and tinychat and god knows what else

yes men do nothing to contribute to anything, you need decisiveness to pull through and make progress on whatever it is you're doing

if this is actually occurring, i suggest you make an actual thread listing grievances with proof

also i know quite a few staff members and wanting individuals to grovel to you is the characteristic of a 13 y/o not an adult with a job and rent

 

na knowing people just helps

people get you in the door, your qualifications keep you there and open up other doors.

 

True.. but let's be real.. if you hang out in discord all day people get to know you and you have a closer chance of a moderator choosing you over others over someone who doesn't hang out there all day..

That's what happened with me and TC back in the day.. I'd be lying if I didn't say me hanging out there all day didn't have a factor in me being able to step down so many times and come back on board when I felt like it.

 

you'd be lying if you said you didn't suck staff's nuts to get staff either directly or indirectly

@SuF is probably being kept out of staff because he has some very unpopular opinions even though he is active and extremely qualified.

 

it helps because people know you and feel like you're competent enough for a job

everyone and their mom knows gohan was nice as shit to everyone and was one of the most - if not most - active people on Sythe when he got promoted

yeah that's what i'm saying. you have to be a really "nice" guy. if you're not nice but qualified, you won't get staff right now in my opinion. there are people on this forum that put on the nice guy act to try and get staff. go to the feedback threads and you can point them out in around 5 minutes.

No, not "nice" like being a suck up, nice like he was a very helpful individual who help whoever with whatever

you need to be qualified and individuals know your qualified via communicating with you. I am not staff, but it's the same for OMMs. We vote on applications, if there is an OMM that can further elaborate on a individuals behavior that I do not know, it is much easier to vote on the application. there is a reason not all omm's are immediately accepted just because they completed an application. You need to show you're a competent omm and while trust is a HUGE part of it, if you are a shitty member of the community your chances are going to be reduced drastically.

tl;dr knowing people helps because they know you and whether you can do whatever the job is
