Ok, this is how this works. You give me a name of a punk-rock, puck-core, emo-punk band and I will try to match their musical style with a less mainstream band that you will probably like. Note: I'm only doing this for punk music.

You can be more specific with certain albums and songs but you don't have to.

    Start posting. :)

I'm sorry if you don't get enough hugs at home and if forces you to flame on a runescape forum but I was simply trying to give help to others who love punk. If you look about what Guru means you would see that a Guru is somewhat of a teacher. I thought it would be nice to share the knowledge I have of punk music and share it with others who are looking for good music.

I actually don't listen to much punk myself, only Rage Against The Machine and Hed Pe.

Rise Against the Machine has some similar qualities to The Offspiring and The White Stripes.

Hed Pe is more rock then punk. Seeing as I don't listen to them I can't give the best opinion but I'd have to say Korn or Anthrax.

Whoa, are you kidding? Hed Pe is definitely punk, nowhere even close to Korn or Anthrax. Also, it's RAGE Against The Machine, not Rise Against The Machine, and it's The Offspring, not The Offspiring. Once again, Rage Against The Machine is nowhere near The White Stripes, totally different styles, in fact, The White Stripes can't even be classified as punk.
Wow, I seem to know punk more than you do, "guru".

I actually really like the Dropkick Murphys celtic style so if you like them then you'll have to love an old but great group called "The Pogues" and their by far best album "Rum Sodumy and the Lash"

I personally wouldn't classify Hed Pe as punk but whatever. A simple typo in The Offspring is no big deal. Sorry for confusing the names between Rage and Rise, I was in a rush upstairs.

I'd have to say Slipknot - Slipknot. And when I compare a group to another group the outcome isn't always going to match up perfectly because similarities are sometime shown in certain albums and songs, usually not everything the group has done.

The more specific you get the better match I can give.

Then next time say what you mean...

I do know alot about punk. I've been to concerts, I've researched punk bands, I try to salvage whatever oldschool punk merchandise that I come across. I have a mp3 filled with some of the greats. So don't tell me what I don't know when you have no idea what you're talking about.

I'm really digging Kent Brockman at the moment man. Suggest me a similar band please. Also, if you have time suggest me a similar band to Scapegoat (crust band).

    Thank you punk rock guru!

For Kent Brockman I would probably have to say Apu. They share this one similar trate. They're from the simpsons!!!!!!!

I listened to a few songs by scapegoat and I honestly can't tell you much since they're death metal which (no offense) I really dislike.

Can I have more questions about bands that are actually punk like The Dropkick Murphys?

Wait, who are you comparing Slipknot to? Because Slipknot has little qualities of punk in there music.
There is a bold line between metal and punk, let me remind you.

Uhh Kent Brockman is a Japanese power-violence band; power-violence happens to be a form of punk rock. And has no relation to The Simpsons. Any "guru" of punk would know such things, and would have heard (or at least known of) Kent Brockman.

As for Scapegoat I meant the crust band, not the death metal band. Crust being again another form of punk rock, mixing anarcho and thrash. But you would know this right, Mr. Guru?

Thanks for your useless suggestions. You have only proven your ignorance in not only the field of punk rock, but in life.

But back on topic! Suggest me your fav d-beat band man, at the moment I'm really digging Framtid, but idk, I wouldn't mind hearing what your fav d-beat band is, you know.

Read my first post. If you do so you will see I am focusing on punk-rock, puck-core, emo-punk. And if you actually read the whole thing you would also see me asking to be specific on album names, songs etc to avoid confusion of bands.

But you just came here just to show how much of an ignorant fool I am, not my punk knowledge....If you come here only trying to prove a point then your really just wasting your time.

Anyways...I don't generally listen to d-beat but I have heard of it. Metallica and Anthrax cover songs for a d-beat band "Discharge" that I've listened to.

ps: Japenese Power-Violence Band, I'm really interested in hearing them, please send me any link that you can find.
