Ok, does a str pure actually need mage? Because I've seen alot of people with mage that calls themselves str pures. So can someone explain the significance of it?

 

I think str pures train magic because it does better damage to armor

 

So then why not make a mage instead lol

 

Because mage alone is weak, virtually any mage only pker will probably die very quickly to anyone with a dd++, or a mage short in a matter of seconds. One because their robes protect them from pretty much nothing, and secondly because mage does not hit through dragon hide, the common outfit for rangers and melee hybirds alike. But combined with melee, ice barrage, or vengance, can determine the outcome of a fight.

 

It helps them to freeze the people and then finish them off with a dds spec.

 

True. And raises your hp if you're bursting.

People like to hybrid, it's the ideal way of PKing, that way if you're fighting someone with high armour/defence you can simply mage them which takes them out easily, or if someone is melee praying vs you, you can just take a step back and barrage them till they stop praying.
