DNT - Provide a Better Explanation of the Rank

I honestly think its fine the way it is. If someone honestly trades someone that has a rank saying they don't trade, they wont make it far on Sythe anyways lol. Has anyone even reported being scammed because they traded someone with this rank? Doesn't really seem like a pressing issue.

 

They don't have the ability to access market sections so no there haven't been scams by DNT users. The point is that it's still not recognized as a rank they have for being malicious or overall scum and looks more like a voluntary rank which isn't the point of having it. You also can't blame new users for not understanding it or even perhaps trying to trade/trading with users who have the rank and even being scammed by them, it's not their fault.

 

How about upon account creation, a message will notify the new user suggesting them not to trade with anyone who has a dnt mini rank?

 

The thing though is, we actually want new community members and telling them as soon as they join that we welcome scammers probably isn't the best way to convey that.

Not many people wanted DNT users on the hand so... I still support the suggestion of keeping the scammers banned.

 

Explaining to them who these members are, and that even though some of them were banned for scamming, some were actually banned for non market related issues. I think this would clear the air a bit, and create a more knowledgeable user base.

 

Hasty is nothing but a scammer so i'm not sure why you expected a valid response from him lmfao. There were little to no users originally in support of the idea of DNT and that was when it was just for petty bans. I guarantee had the poll read 'are you in support of unbanning massive scammers and shitbags' there would have been even less support.

 

I think it would be great if the DNT title had a set definition in the Official Rules thread as a separate post. That way you could click the NT rank and it would redirect to the definition for all to read and understand.

 

I agree. For new members, that could serve as extra clarification, if the "Do not trade" wasn't enough haha.

 

As it sits currently this rank seems way too relaxed and doesn't communicate clearly why the person isn't a market user. If I was a scammer using this rank I don't believe it would be a hard sell to say "oh I normally just don't use the market so I have that rank" to an inexperienced Sythe user.

If we are planning on going this route, the rank and reasoning has to be blatantly obvious.

Also UT needs to be obvious as well, DNT sigs shouldn't be allowed or checked and maintained. People need to know the difference, especially if the suggestion for people requesting a DNT has gone through.

 

All this bureaucracy is so suffocating. I say we do away with all this "non market" jazz all together and just let the free market regulate itself.

 

I like this idea, just reban everyone who is DNT and let the free market decide if they should be able to return.

agreed, no idea what they were smoking when they decided it was a good idea, any rank with an image makes the person look more legit to me

 

Bump, seen a news thread was added but this thread will slowly move down the list and over time disappear. I believe an explanation like the news thread should be forced to each user's profile. In addition, I still feel adding that these users broke the ToS to access Sythe's market and displayed malicious intent should be added to each profile.
