    PS2 Question...

Quick question... I have the PS2 slim but I think it applies to the old one as well. I usually turn the PS2 all the way off (unplugging it/turning off the switch on the old design) and my cousin told me it's better just to hold down reset so the red light is always showing so the motor doesn't have to keep on turning on and off... So... Is it OK just to leave it plugged in and the red light on 24/7?

    PS2 Question...

Yes.. Think of the PS2 as a computer.... if you flip the switch on the back, it forces a hardrive kill.. but if you turn it off via screen, then let it power down, it's better. By pressing that button, you allow it to slow down to a stop...

another example would by forcing a fan to stop moving while it motor keeps running... it'll burn out quick if you do that.

It's fine. It's designed to be left on.

The only problem is you use more electricity.

    PS2 Question...

Actually it is better to keep it idle with the red button. I can't remember where but I seen an article on this very same question, and they tested it and found that if you keep properly shut down you're PS2 VIA idle/red light it lasts up to 3x longer then if you would just kill the power switch.
