Pointless, you can not illicit a true emotional response out of a person through a hypothetical scenario because there's 0 connection.
There's no real world consequence.

The scenario itself is also pretty ridiculous. How do I know pushing the fat guy won't just make the train go into a death tumble and kill everyone including him?
Not to mention the guaranteed death of every potential passenger on that train.

 

Nothing is good or bad, but thinking makes it so. My decision to save one and sacrifice another is not a noble or ethical approach. It is just a decision, which is simply a thought.

I would let go of my thoughts and watch the scene unfold as it may. Whatever decision I make has potential consequences and potential rewards. What will be, will be.

 

In the heat of the moment, I would Push the switch.
I would not push the guy over, as it would damage me mentally watching someone die physically cause of me.

 

I'd probably just record the video and sell it to the Internet. Does this make me a capitalist?
