Booted off my account?

While I was training in al-kharid I got booted off my account with the message saying "Someone is already logged in" or something to that effect.
Then when I tried logging in it gave me the generic someone is on my account wait 60 seconds error.

When I waited the 60 seconds I was able to log back in. My account should be secure, I don't think anyone could have gotten my password or email.
I'm running a virus scan but assuming it turns out negative (which it should) what the hell could have happened?

I'm going to guess I timed out or something on the connection?

 

Yeah you just timed out. It happens sometimes on either server. The server gets confused and thinks you're still logged in but you're not. It's happened to me on more than one occasion.

You're especially susceptible to the error on 07 because of the no-life dbags that boot entire servers offline just to get off.

You're fine though, no worries. That error/type of message is even described on the Runescape Wiki somewhere.

 

They really need a new error handler for this shit.

 

I know it's super annoying when it happens, but consider yourself lucky in this instance. One time right before an RS3 update the same thing happened to me, and I couldn't log in for over 30 minutes before my account "un-froze" itself. I even was able to log onto other accounts and see that my account wasn't really online.

Really annoying error but yeah it's sort of rare at least and there's no long-term impact you have to worry about.

 

This happened to me a few weeks ago, nearly gave me a heart attack lol. But yeah, did the same thing, ran a virus test and nothing came up. I guess its just a mini glitch
