New kind of scam attempt?

Hey guys not really sure where to post this on the forums.

I've recently had some people add me that wanted to buy gold. After I give them my e-mail they go offline instantly. This has happenend a couple of times over the past few days and was wondering if any else had the same experience?

I think they watched A friend's video and try to get into your email after you give it out, but it's a pretty bad attempt since 2FA is so easy activate nowadays.

What are you guys opinions on this?

Hey yeah I just had the same attempt i gave to this guy my email and he's offline on Skype now. Buying 160m OSRS BTC 1.05-1.15

 

Uhh he's already banned nice! didnt notice that lol

 

It's a hacker who runs your email and info to see if he can find a password to your skype or way to hack/recover it, sets up a trade and then hacks your skype and uses it to confirm "you" receiving money you never actually received so a middleman hands him your gold.

If you find anyone doing this I suggest you message a staff member because they're probably hacked.

 

Oh damn, thats pretty smart actually. Will report the persons skype to a mod then. Thanks for the info.
