What should prisons be for?

Was thinking bout this the other day.

There should be a seperate prison for pedofiles, murders, and rapists. They shbould be encouraged to kill each other. Then the world wud be a much better place.

 

Well you cant do that though Im sure people would want that.. Im thinking more like simply serperating violent/sex offenders and non violent

 

YES isolation cell's for all.

Or a torture room where they give the prisoners electric shocks and stuff like that.

 

I HATE the way prisons work. They should be used properly.. and the law should be improved thoroughly, Basically i hate the way the world works at times.

talk about wasting tax dollars. What do you say the the vast population of inmates that are non violent drug users, which could be spending there time in a rehabilitation clinic.

 

well, if they use drugs and get sentenced they should go to a prison foucesd on there addiction. but if they go for murder they shouldnt have lots of other contact. whats the sense of putting them all together if they will just talk about ways to kill a person or smug drugs into the usa. but giveing a convict a wepon!!?!?!?! thats crazzy or giving them a tank crazzzy!!

 

I don't think drug users should go to jail...it's they're problem they're doing drugs, and they're not hurting anyone else. It should only be outlawed to do drugs in public because smoking can cause pollution, etc.

People are actually fighting and stealing for what they have always fought and stole for: money.

This distinction may well seem obvious or even trivial, but it is in fact absolutely crucial. Drugs are illegal because they are abused by society. So simply banning drugs in public wouldn't solve anything. The policy on drugs the U.S has implemented isn't the discussion here. I agree with you that drug users shouldn't go to jail. But they do deserve severe, court mandated rehibiliation and parol.

 

i think that the u.s.a prision are alot better then the canndian one's but they still need to be improved if people want them so start reducing crime level
