Is it possible to do nothing?

Doing nothing is doing something when you think about it Also we're always doing something so yes its impossible.

 

It is impossible, because you ALWAYS think about something, or have something you look at, wich makes you think about that xD

Technicly: If you DO nothing, you should be dead ;\

 

lol, at school our class was arguing about this for like 3 hours, got no work done .

It depends how you define nothing.
In my definition, doing nothing means doing nothing meaningful
If you accept my definition, it's true

it is impossible to do nothing...even if you sit somewhere doing "nothing", it is considered doing something by sitting :\

 

If you talking in the Physical sense of 'doing nothing' then the only way that would be possible is if you were dead.

If you're talking in a literal sense, then it's impossible, seeing as if you're dead you're still laying down, which is doing something.

 

unfortunately this question is unresolvable because the dictionary has 2 definitions which are:
"The absense of something"
and "A quantity of no importance"

you cannot possibly take action in a void.
also, its possible to lounge and stare at a wall and do nothing because you have no actions that are important or worthy of note (as a heart beat and a breath rate are not worthy of note since all healthy people have one)

thats my 2 cents worth (aka not worthy of note. (aka no importance. (aka nothing))) ;P

 

if you think that nothing is just a vegetable sitting on a lounge
people use the saying your doing nothing and you are nothing
all the time it would be definitely impossible to do nothing.
I.E:- If a tree fell in a forest and no one was around when it
crashed would it make a noise?
Well no one knows do they cause it could of been nothing
but then again did it make a noise or was it nothing
was it able to be nothing?

 

If your not doing any action at all what are you doing? nothing because you must be dead, because even breathing is doing something, and doing nothing is doing something.

no because at any point in time your either breathing or hoding you breath or "being alive"
