IRC Thread - Staff OP's/Guidelines - Complaints

Okay, well there are a BUNCH of people on the access list. So it has been cleared.

Here it goes...


OP/HalfOp Rules/Regulations:

• To become qualified for OP/Halfop in #sythe you must be in a position (OR FORMER Position) at Sythe.org. This includes sectional mods, global mods, administrators, and MM's.
  
• To stay in your posisiton in #Sythe you must be be seen by me/filefragg/curt atleast 4-5 times a week. Just to show that you ARE active... Unless a valid excuse is used. (I.e. Unknown's country trip... He will get OP back when he returns)
• You may not KICK/Ban anyone for lame reasons. (Unless joking around with someone that will not get mad... I am guilty too ) Like just say you and someone were joking around and you kick them, that is no big deal, but kicking Yakov and saying (Jew) as the reason is not valid (I am guilty as well <_<)... Just please do not abuse, we get enough complaints as it is... I am trying my best to keep things under control, etc. I will not be abusive as I have been in the past though
• Do not BEG/BRIBE for OP's/HalfOp's... All staff will be awarded Op/HalfOP in the irc, if you lose it. You lose it for atleast a month.
  
• There will be no going back and forth, like not being active, then promising to be active then a week later you become unactive and lost it again. If there is a reason you may not be on for a pierod of time let us know.

That is pretty much it.

IF ANYONE Is abusive TAKE A SCREENSHOT and PM me or post it here.

I do not want anyone think the irc is playing favorites, because we are not. This includes the administrators too. If they do not pop into irc for a while a little big atleast, each week they will lose it...

Please try not to abuse, and if you would just post here that you acknowledge this thread, and any questions you may have.

Sounds very good, a very nice step in the right direction. Although I would request one clarification.

Sometimes, there are various people, who think it's funny to call me "fatass", "fatty", and other random insults about weight. Which, I really couldn't care less, it does get annoying, and I give them quite a few warnings, and if they don't stop, I kick/ban. Is that rightly justified? I know you shouldn't kick for personal reasons, so would getting disrespected count as personal, or a valid reason? Thank you.

This also would go for any other members disrespecting anyone else, regardless if they have access or not. Or of what status they are themselves.

 

Disrespect counts as an automatic kick/ban. Just tell them the first time, then ban them. IF someone removes there ban before you are ready for them to be unbanned then screenie and show me.

I was wondering why i did get my halfop

Because im a middleman and also a HUE, do i get full ops?

Id say Op's is for Globals+.

 

So sythe will have no power in the irc...?

@ non staff having hops, Wait to that pol is over, I know poll is kinda messed up but staff knows who voted what . I don't believe that cancels this out.

 

cool372, if you didn't read, he cleared the access lists, and you must also be active to get it in the first place.

And to WoW_Sucks, as I understand it, MMs and UEs could have the same status on the IRC as an Administrator or Global Moderator. Depending on your activity on the IRC, and how much you know about it, you could get HalfOP or OP. Correct me if I'm wrong, thorpe, or better clarify it please.

One last unusual question, thorpe. Let's say, someone is breaking the rules, in one way or another, and you give warnings. Then finally you kickban them, yet the kick reason says something totally random and unrelated. Is that alright? Or does the kick reason always have to have the real reason why kicked, even if you have warned them to stop whatever they were doing beforehand?

 

I am active, just at a time that most of you aren't on (nightime GMT+10.5). Just because you don't see me, doesn't mean I'm not there.
