Suggestion for Runescape Market

So thanks to a recent suggestion added on one of my threads
in the RS market, I have a suggestion myself that I think should be used.

I was asked to insert an image to my post showing the "ban meter"
of the account I was looking to sell. While I understand that most
people want these posted, they can also me very misleading. The
reason being is unless a user shares the name of the account, there is
no way of proving the image they post is really for the account they are
listing.

While this cant be harmful most of the time, other times it could be the difference
between x amount of money here and x amount of money there.

It could also easily mislead new users with less experience into making
bad decisions and spending more on something than they should due
to a fake image being used.

My suggestion is.. Forbid users from actually posting these images unless
they are willing to also share the name of the account, instead of cutting
the name out of the screenshot. This way there is solid proof they are sharing
images that match. Don't make it mandatory of course, but if they want to
add that extra bit of proof they need to be willing to prove its real. Otherwise,
risk their post being closed.

Thoughts?

 

A simple counter, the person who selling the account if they lied, they can get a TWC? Person who bought the account can ask for refund? If not the person selling can get banned?

I don't agree on showing the name, that is not a good thing to do on a forum like this. It would leave a danger to the entire account swapping/selling/trading process.

 

The whole screenshot requirement makes no sense. Press F12, click on the text you want to change and enter your account name. Congratulations! You have now faked a screenshot.

 

This... This here makes much more sense.. Thank you. If a user buys an account and any of the images shared are incorrect than they can report it to have the slapped with a TWC.

I agree that a screenshot with the name is extremely dangerous, which is why I don't even bother posting a ban meter on my threads. Mainly because I see no point in sharing information I cannot prove legitimate.

 

If the account isn't what was advertised, in this case the ban meter is different or w/e, is considered false advertising which I assume is not allowed.

 

Report users who lie about an account sale through the usual channels, no need to make it a specific rule since lying about something you're selling makes no sense anyways.
