So, how about we code up a RSPS and set up a deadman mode where we can compete as a community and bring in other people that want to join this kind of event as well. The way it would work is we would have a team in charge of the event. I'd like to be involved in this. This team would not compete and instead would be moderators on the RSPS. We could do things like giving out clues as to where a chest might be with valuable resources, but it would clearly be fought over and you could potentionally lose out on grinding time to risk getting this chest. Things like that would be fun to implement.

We could do free ones, sponsored ones, pay to join and winner take all ones, games for miniranks, etc etc. There are endless possibilities. We could limit the play to 8hours a day or maybe for more casual players even 4 but double the experience gained.

This is something that could bring players into our community on the basis that they can essentially make really good money if they're good. We could eventually split into a high-rollers games where people buy in with a 100$ and lower cost games where people buy in with only $5.

I'm aware that Deadman private servers exist, but myspace existed before facebook...Just because it already exists doesn't mean that we can't do it better.

The possibilities are endless. Thoughts?

It's pretty easy to take a source and a client and change all the info, spawn points, spawn items ect. To do all the things you're suggesting though you would need to find a source that already has all of that, or someone who is willing to put in real work for free.

 

Can't we just have a normal rsps? No special fuckfuck mode etc. Normal rsps' with constant support: eg. Sythe people would do very well in the industry. You just need a dedicated team and to sort out the rules.

and for the love of god stop making the same 07 version rsps' please. soulsplit's Alotic server was 748 or whatever and was extremely popular.

I am willing to help with the coding part of the RSPS if we get a team willing to put together the time to get it done. No one wants to play on a server that's nothing but glitches and bullshit.

Yeah, its pretty simple up until you get to the exploits/dupes unless you're a real coder and in that case you would probably have better things to spend your time on than developing a RSPS for free

Fair enough. I figured it was dead because it was so time consuming, thats why I recommended the 4 hours/day with increased exp rates and cash bonuses, but if you don't think thats enough to draw activity that's a fair point

(and a sythe rsps has been talked about since 2010. Google Sythe RSPS and you'll even find the beginnings of it, so nobodys really taking your idea man :/)

 

I am finishing up my degree and we have to do projects anyway. So may as well have some fun while doing it. Have nothing better to do besides be a nerd and study.

 

I'd like to put a few things on the table w/o bias.

-Out of everyone here, I've actually ran servers with 500+ players.

-I've owned 10+ RSPS

-I've moderated over 50 Different servers

-I have quite literally 3/4 the industry on 2 skypes, no joke I can put u in contact with anyone from galkon to pim to david, so I know what I'm talking about and what works.

-I Have over 6 figures in RSPS sales and have dealt with pretty much everyone in the industry.



I can say from a professional and personal standpoint that both blade & OP are incorrect, There are many many released sources that are based around DMM or SDMM with lootable chests, npc's, skull timers, and other things like that so sythe would not have to custom code hardly anything if he wanted to go that route, he could release it and fix bugs and it'd work fine.

Regarding OP, I have nothing to say besides this 1 Basic fact, Deadman and DMM seasonal all died after the hype and a month or less, RSPS always follow the trends of RS, 07 is hot so 317's and 07 servers are hot, I do not think DMM or SDMM should be the choice sythe should make because it will without a doubt die after riding the wave, yes its a cool concept but we can hardly do what 07 is doing and release a entire new season every 3 months, the server would be so dead it would just shutdown.

We need a server that can be built long-term, preferably a 317 or osrs server which has a stable base and no memory leaks so gameplay is easy and w/o issue, u need to watch the trends in RSPS markets just like any other market, Deadman is not hot so a rsps wouldn't be hot, OSRS & 317's are hot.

Sythe- Please please if you take the route of RSPS consult me, I've lived and played RSPS my entire life, I don't brag when I say I was there around the very first one, my name is known across the entire industry and not just for RWT, there is no-one more connected in the whole of the industry I can promise u that, and I say that w/o a shred of bragging, I'm stating fact.

What risk do we have in trying?

Do the servers have to be up all the time? Can we just activate them when we do these events?
