Blacklist the fake .eu and .ga copycat scam sites

I'm pretty sure everyone that markets has seen these people make loads of forum accs pretending to be gold sellers/buyers and make a copycat thread that redirects them to a fake scamsite

i usually just report them as soon as they pop up and they usually get banned ASAP but that seems to not be enough as they are getting away with many scams it seems \:

i got threatened last night after he pretended to be me and scammed 2 people out of 200M;



would be great if their sites could be blacklisted if and when they create them and post the links on Sythe

I've seen plenty reports in the RaS myself just on these sites that take your GP and ban you after so for the sake of the community pls take action

.EU sites are NOT all scam sites, there are some legitmate ones operating on sythe so I don't support that one, .eu is just for the European union which some people prefer to use(European business).

.ga is the country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Gabon

I'll support the .ga domain block because I don't think sythe has any real traffic from Gabon so I think that wont do any damage and it can always be unblocked later on.

I didn't even know this site existed, needless to say I will be having a not-so-nice talk with Mike regarding this, it appears to be a very very early on copy of the site(it still has several bugs I've found).

It also appears he only copied the front-end, not the backend from the way checkout works.


Still annoying.

 

************** is most likely the same domain owner as *************, PS: since they only use new accounts, wouldn't admins be able to restrict the board for like a 1 week limit before allowing new members, this way they would have to wait atleast 1 week to attempt to scam, but then again, they could just make 20 to 30 accounts at a time and wait for a week.

 

That would hurt newcomers, as they would not be able to make threads in that section, and it is very easy to get around, as you stated.

 

An approval system could be handy for that, but I guess having to approve tons of new threads a day may be too much work.

 

Restricting the market is not an answer. It's easy enough to mass create accounts and wait out that 1 week period and start going ham again.

Wouldn't change. Then they would start PMing/posting on profiles as they already are at the moment. Best we could do is try and disallow the link

 

The only thing that needs to be done is blacklist known scamming/impostor websites imo. Instead of adding restrictions I think it would be best if staff automatically receives a notification whenever someone attempts to post a blacklisted link.

 

Censor requested, please PM a moderator/admin with evidence and the website next time and we'll get it sorted asap.
