I like this thread. If someone thinks I did something wrong, go ahead and tell me. Whether it's through a PM or a post. Everyone has things they have to fix about how they act or what they say sometimes. Remember, staff members are human and aren't payed for the work they do. They do things on Sythe because they enjoy it and like to help out.

Theres a differance between us being corrupt and not telling you the specific reason for ever thing we do because some of it is simply none of your buisness. We have reasons for everything we do .

 

I don't really think the staff is corrupt. Sure some mess up sometimes, but everyone is human, and having a rank and moderator privileges on this forum doesn't alleviate you of imperfection.

 

The word really isn't corrupt, I'd like to use the word lazy. Although every once in a while, a staff member will go bad, I wouldn't agree if they said the staff was corrupt, some staff can be quite biased, but once again, that's not really corrupt unless they abuse it.

Why is it, we have, what? Eight or nine admins, yet it takes two weeks to get ONE donator rank put on someone's name? That makes no sense, and please don't say we are just that busy, because I can assure you, as some maybe are, there are quite a few who do nothing with it.

I would honestly die the day I saw 50% of the staff actually active, yet there's always so many people inactive. Guess what? If they can't do their responsibility as mod, or give the time they know they need to, STEP DOWN, and let someone that actually can do it. They either don't step down, one, because they want to sit on their rank like half of the people in the history of sythe have done, or two, well, there really isn't any other reason.

Also to some staff, mostly going with some admins, but, some people on here have the attitude, and it's been said before about some people, but the attitude of basically "agree with me, or fuck off". Which should never be present, yet it is a lot.

Mods and admins get picked because they helped out, or are very active, etc, in what they mod. Surely though, just because they get modded, they can just stop and sit on their rank, like I've said before. They should have to keep prooving their worth to the sythe team of staff, yet none ever do.

Main point of this argument is to get activity up and actually have the staff do what they were staffed to do.

And, this thread was a bad idea, because the staff will just turn anything said around, and it will get us nowhere. Annex's reply is a perfect example, as his point made was a bad one, and his example bad, that reply wasn't needed.

 

Some of us do a lot of behind the scenes work. You rarely see me post anywhere but the Dispute forum/Community General, but in fact I am an active member, and do a lot of work. Steph rarely posts here too, but that doesn't mean she does nothing either. I can keep naming examples, but you get the point.

Yakov, I never said no one ever did anything, there are some people who I am perfectly content with, but there's others, who do nothing. And about the "We have lives outside of sythe, too", thing. Guess what? I know, I think everyone else does, but that should never be an excuse, if you can't give the time, don't sit on your rank with it.

Let me put it this way. There are many people who have lives, and could still spend a few hours on sythe every single day. Well, they have lives too, but they still manage. And if you don't have time to go on it a lot, then step down and let someone who can, take your place.

Behind the scenes, wow, honestly, that is way overused. Let's look at it in a different light, this probably hasn't been said before. Maybe a lot of people do, do a lot of BTS. But they barely post, and they barely do any public work. So maybe it's not so much they aren't doing anything, BUT SHOW THE COMMUNITY YOU ARE! Maybe it's the impression, but give a good one. Obviously it you have tons of people saying they are inactive, start posting more, actually get involved in the community you mod over. And if you do BTS work, post about it, make a thread in community general that globals can just keep editing and adding things they have done to help out. Show the community YOU ARE DOING SOMETHING, then things like this would never surface in the first place.

There is still no excuse for the rank thing, and I have others aswell. That is just plain laziness. Also, why whenever something of a normal member is asked they either say they are busy or talk to someone else. No staff is ever that busy, it's just they don't want to actually use their powers for the reasons they got them.

 

Is it me, or is everybody just seeming to use this post to suck upto the staff here a Sythe?

 

Mods can't change the donator rank, only admins, and your suggestions are highly impractical, while they sound good on paper, they will not work so well in a real situation. People may think we're trying to show off, etc. but I can give you an example. We're currently deciding on creating a new rule that will bar people from creating personality queries.Did you know about this? Probably not. Most of the rules are scrapped, but some are put in place.

 

Dorito, "no staff is ever that busy"? That's funny, because when I tell someone I'm too busy I really am too busy. People wait for a donator rank? Perhaps the admins aren't informed of who needs the rank? If I'm at my computer, I give donator ranks as soon as I'm asked (assuming Sythe will load). You can't expect us to sit at our computers all day waiting to be asked to give ranks.

 

I really agree, the only mod i can ever get a hold of daily500 or pen, and guess what, they're my two favorite mods. I think staff could at least talk to people that need help. Your to busy? Get more mods/admins. I mean, like, why does filefragg deserve admin powers here?

 

But i know many people who wouldn't, people who care about the community and not really some java game.

 

Or the staff could be wise in their choosing. It's pretty easy for me to see who cares about sythe and who cares about runescape.

 

Except Pen , don't say he isn't active, same with probly daily and annex. And as for the whole sucking up thing that someone posted about, it sure does seem it lol. And does filefragg do a TON of behind the scenes work? that was always my guess.
