How to stop popups without adblocks

First off you need to be using Firefox for this to work so if you are using IE then you can dl + install firefox from http://www.mozilla.org

open up a new tab or window and type in the address bar "about:config" without quotes, and you should get a screen that looks similar to this:



Click in the text area beside where it says filter and type in "popup" without the quotes of course. You will see something like this:



Double click on dom.popup_allowed_events. You will get an editable text bar like this, however you may have more events than me.




The main events you want to remove are "Load" and "change". Make sure there is a single space between each event. To remove an event delete the text that describes the event. These are javascript events so you can input your own that you want to allow.
