No mayor effects just a plain "clearly smudged background"

I agree with that although, thank god, its not monotone :)
and it's nice, it just too obvious smudging, try covering it up and try creating a more extreme focal point that really catches your eye. It's nice tho, text needs work ^^

It's Fire & ICE, so to me it makes more sense for the Fire to be on the left and High up, and Ice to be on the right and on the bottom.

it would be nicer if you immediatly can see whats it about, instead of thinking what it is for 5 minutes.. try to change the text a bit, and some warmer fire..

Few things, since you've said to be very harsh. Fire goes up, ice falls down. Ice does not have the same textures and dimensions of fire. Quite the opposite. Ice is less blue, with more 'glow' to it, and much more shine. Fire has it's own glow, but it's more of a vibrant glow when you use small sizes like this. your render should be experiencing something closer to a fog around himself, because when fire and ice come together, that's what you would get - lots of steam. Ice should have a fog itself, falling down like a curtain, because the heat of the fire will make it do just that. For example, look at your ice chest on a hot day, when you open it. You can see the fog that falls down. The same thing happens when you open a popsicle. Fire would have to have some sort of source for the fire to come from, not just for it to come out of nowhere, so you would also have to include some sort of fuel. This square has no framing, it's just kind of floating there in the empty space, sitting on the background of sythe.org like a piece of paper...get another sprite to 'hold up' the rectangle that is this signature, and tilt it at a 5% angle to make it look like they are holding it up, and it would be much, MUCH, better.

very nice idea and detail but i think the figure in the middle could have been a little more soft. maby some warming on that.

also, like so many others have said, the text is kind of tricky to read as it looks like its saying AND ICE FIRE rather than FIRE and ICE.

otherwise id give a nice 8/10 for it :D

EDIT: i also dont get the point of the read head.. is he wearing a helmet or something... kinda looks like a lizards head
