Impossible. Your brain is always processing information whether you think about it or not. Thinking is just when you focus on one topic. While you're thinking about something specific, parts of your brain can be thinking about random topics.

actually it is very possible, Anastesia...It puts you down so far beyond sleep, your as close to death as you can get WITHOUT actually being dead, you cant breathe on your own, your cant think, you rely on machines to work your lungs so breathe so therefore....the machines are the ones doing something, you are not, therefore you are doing nothing.

Nope Unless You're A Lifeless corpse u'll always be doing something
either looking around sleeping sitting useing ur brain wasteing it [as i do].
u can sit lifeless for weeks but guess what? ur doing sumthing ur breathing or useing ur brain

Impossible, if you are sitting "doing nothing" you are actually sitting, breaking, and possibly thinking.

You can do nothing voluntarily. There are some monks that clear there thoughts in a way that they are practically doing nothing. As far as involuntary actions, no.

 

So the machines process the oxygen for your lungs and pump the blood for your heart? Hardly.

That's a state of being, not doing.

 

Yea you cant do 'nothing', i remember having a discussion in school like this. Most people consider nothing as sittin here playin on the internet, not really 'nothing'.

Nothingness is the absence of everything. Thus, doing nothing is NOT something.

If you would like to do nothing, not even think, then wait until you die. Your mind will deactivate, and you will be left to do nothing, as you are not capable of doing anything. In fact, you wouldn't even exist.
