~Rap Is Not Crap!~

You know, I've always enjoyed the arguments that start between Rap and Rock. Rather than talking about why they like one over the other we resort to swearing and name calling and make enemies. I'm a fan of Rock and don't like much Rap but I'm not going to say that anyone that listens to it is an idiot, a loser, or whatever. Both genres have their styles and people have different tastes and most things with music have meaning behind everything. With these two genres I've noticed you either like one or the other. Some people (who deserve a high five) can manage to like almost all types of music. I just wish everyone could come to accept that other people have different tastes rather than insulting each other. ^^

 

rap is a great genre and its ok if you don't like it..it doesn't mean you don't like black people (even though alot of people don't) im half black half Dominican & rap is liked extremely alot in new york (were i live) but then again were you live just might be full of white people or something that likes rock? new york is full of blacks and Latinos...idc if some people don't like rap because..i think that rock or rock metal is freaky and weird and just says the same stupid thing over again only screaming in a higher or lower tone..so idc w/e rap is great..

The people that hate rap are either religious, or stereotype music as needing many instruments to be good. Ill spare religious people the grief. For the stereotypers you are just fucking idiots. What you are thinking is pretty much the same as musical racism. Rap music is older than rock. Its the first music to use a primitive instrument and its not from europe. Rock(american) originated from middle ages from gospel music, In india a different form was developing but it never really became rock. Rock is around a hundred to 200 years old, Rap music ( in its base) is thousands of years old. Native people used it as a way of communication to their spirits ( banging on drums and yelling)heavy rock music is just shouting shit that sounds terrible. ill talk more about this shit later and for whoever says you cant spell crap without rap, you cant suck cock without rock.

Ok, i don't quite listen to rap that much, it happends that i fall for like 1 song or two for about a day lol. But the thing is, i can't really find the "Music" in rap? It's more like a "rythm story". Soo, i don't even call it music. Also by speaking about "Rock" there are different kinds of rock music. I hate Heave Rock where they just scream, it's just sick. But Bands as Guns N' Roses, Nirana, Iron Maiden etc etc, that's more like music to me.

How so? We aren't discriminating them cause they are black, infact, there are lots of lowlife white scum who play in Rap bands (Ok maybe the juxtaposition of "rap" and "band" don't go well together, since band requires talent).

Whichever source you got your information from, definitely isn't a music-related one. There isn't even a word in the English language of how false and far fetched that statement is. Rap may have looked like it stemmed from African culture, but it didn't. They are two different genres. Rap is synthetic garbage.
I've played many instruments, and drums is one of them. African rhythms tend to follow into a 6/4 off-time signature (May act as a norm in some cases), which usually follows a very primitive fashion. This actually bleeds into jazz with the triplet usage to create 8/12 signatures. You can fuse the two together to magnify the effect here.
Rap uses neither of that, its all electronic, and follows a rock pattern (1e+a2e+a...etc) pattern.
Oh wait, you are probably thinking of skin color. Well I'm sorry to burst your [mighty huge] bubble, but blacks do create good music. Yes, that is Jazz and blues. That stuff is talent, and is way older then Rap (Did I mention its superior? Wait I did, never mind).

Seriously that was a low blow to India, and all our founding fathers who knew how to create music from hides and wood. They actually needed a rhythm back then.

I only like Alternative Rock, Expirimental Rock, Hard Rock, and all types of Metal except for Death Metal and Thrash Metal. The only type of Rap I like is really only sung by white people and it's called Rapcore, which is a mix of Rap and Metal. Underground Rap is okay and Mainstream Rap is bull shit black wannabes.
